Parenthood’s Mae Whitman Reveals Pregnancy, With Assist from Lauren Graham and Miles Heizer — See Photo
The Parenthood family is reuniting — and growing!
In an Instagram post shared Sunday, Mae Whitman announced her pregnancy with the “help” of her former TV mom, Lauren Graham, and TV brother, Miles Heizer.
“Not to make a Parenthood episode out of it or anything but!!! Mother’s Day looking a little different this year!” she wrote in a caption beneath a black-and-white photo with her TV fam. “Can’t wait to meet you, huge baby kicking my insides to filth! #ruveal”
Whitman’s Parenthood aunt Erika Christensen (aka Julia) was among the first to comment on her Instagram post, writing: “Hashtag ruveal lol AMAZING!!!!!!”
The mom-to-be’s Good Girls co-star Christina Hendricks also offered her congratulations. “I’m so happy for you,” she wrote.
Parenthood ran for six seasons, between 2010 and 2015. The NBC drama followed the Braverman family, comprised of patriarch Zeek (Craig T. Nelson), matriarch Camille (Bonnie Bedelia) and the families of their four children: Adam (Peter Krause), Sarah (Graham), Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Julia (Christensen). Whitman and Heizer played Graham’s teenage children, Amber and Drew.
The 2015 series finale made TVLine’s lists of the Best Series Finales of the 2010s… and the Best Series Finales of All Time. The episode marked the passing of Zeek, then transformed into a bittersweet celebration of love and family thanks to a several-year time jump showing how the rest of the family carried on. (Whitman’s Amber, who welcomed a son named after Zeek in the series’ penultimate hour, went on to have second child with her future husband, played all-too-briefly by Friday Night Lights’ Scott Porter).

But they’re teasing us 😂😂. I loved and was satisfied with the finale. However, I would be over the moon (but cautious) of they ever decided to do a revival of some sorts. For me, Parenthood is in my top 10 of all time.

Seriously..when I read the headline I thought her TV brother was the dad. Which is icky. Still don’t get the title.
Why is the icky? They’re actors. At the time Parenthood was filmed Lauren Graham and Peter Krause were a couple, but they played brother and sister. Actor’s play parts, but they are people outside of those roles.
Its none of our business who the father is. She can tell us if she wants, or not.
I love this!! Very sweet and as we’ve seen Mae grow up on the screen it brought tears to my eyes.

I’m a fan of hers from Mean Girls/Parenthood/Scott Pilgrim, but an even bigger fan of her now that I know she likes the band 311 …. They’re great !

Mae is an excellent actress. She was great in Parenthood but excellent in Good Girls, a show I enjoyed immensely.
I love watching Lauren Graham in all her series, but didn’t particularly like her part in Parenthood. She didn’t play her usual personality, which was very comedic and fun loving. In this one she was more serious, rarely uplifting. I loved her on the Gilmore Girls and hope another series comes up soon staring Lauren, and being herself.
It’s great that you know what you like and what you want to see, but she’s an actor and the whole point is for her to play different roles instead of the same character over and over.
