My wife would occasionally bring her phone charger into our living room and try each time to find an unused outlet so she could charge her phone. So I bought this for her, knowing it would allow her to do that without needing an outlet (since it is typically connected to an outlet in our bedroom). So the portable, totally wireless capability (once it is fully charged) allows her to disconnect it from the bedroom outlet and charge from any other room in the house without having to plug in again. Of course, she returns it to the bedroom and reconnects it to the outlet after using it elsewhere in the house, but she loves the convenience of it.
