Netflix Drops Trailer and Cast for ‘Captain Fall’ from ‘Norsemen’ Creators

Jason Ritter, Christopher Meloni, and Lesley-Ann Brandt lead the voice cast on the all-new 2D animated adult comedy from Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen that follows a naïve, good-hearted ship captain unknowingly at the helm of a smuggling ship for an international cartel; show streams this July.

Netflix has just released a trailer, voice cast list, images, and premiere date for Captain Fall, the all-new 2D animated adult comedy series from Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen, creators of the streaming giant’s hilarious live-action absurdist comedy, Norsemen. The first season of 10 26-minute episodes is set to stream July 28.

Captain Fall follows Jonathan Fall, a wet-behind-the-ears, yet good-hearted sea captain who unwittingly finds himself at the helm of a smuggling ship for a terrible international cartel that’s using him as a fall guy in case the authorities ever catch up to them.

The voice cast includes Jason Ritter (Matlock, Accused, Raising Dion) as Jonathan Fall; Christopher Meloni (Man Of Steel, 42, Law & Order: Organized Crime) as Agent Steel; Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer, Spartacus, The Walking Dead Michonne and Rick spin-off) as Liza; Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Fatherhood, Bill & Ted Face The Music) as Mr. Tyrant; Alejandro Edda (Narcos: Mexico, The Last of Us Part 2 video game, Horizon: An American Saga) as Pedro; Adam Devine (The Out-Laws, The Righteous Gemstones, Bumper in Berlin) as Tanner; and Trond Fausa (Oppenheimer, Norsemen, Lilyhammer) as Nico.

Helgaker and Torgersen serve as creators, writers, showrunners, and executive producers on the series. Joel Trussell (Electric City, Pickle and Peanut) also serves as executive producer.  The series was developed by Helgaker, Togersen, and Trussell.

At the time of the show’s greenlight back in July 2020, the creators noted, “We are thrilled to set out on this new adventure with Netflix. We first pitched Captain Fall as a live-action show, but Netflix saw the potential of it being animated. Although a bit scary in the beginning, moving from live-action to animation just feels amazingly limitless and creative on a whole new level. And luckily Netflix has surrounded us with a group of extremely talented people, so everything is set up for us not screwing this one up. But you never know.”

Espionage and skullduggery await on the high seas!
