Critic Reviews for Ozark Season 3

All Critics (34) | Top Critics (8)

Season three is the best season of the series so far. The story line arc works pretty well, with seeds planted early on that bloom in the later episodes.

You could do a lot worse than "Ozark." Just hang on and enjoy.

Season 3 is a marked improvement over Season 2, dialing up the pressure and tossing in just enough surprises to keep the audience on their toes.

Explosive, exciting, intriguing and raw, Ozark is just getting better. [Full review in Spanish]

Here's hoping Season 3 finally wins Best TV Drama. ... We might have to change the opening credit image to an Emmy statue, although in this show, that hardware might wind up crushing someone's skull on a dock.

The performances are award-worthy, the storylines engaging, and memorable. Season 3 is the best so far!

The season is also elevated by Tom Pelphrey's endearing, frustrating turn as the chemically unstable brother of Linney's character...

Apr 28, 2020 | Full Review…

Everything old is new again in season 3 - the acting, the script, the locales. Janet McTeer and Tom Pelphrey are standouts but it is still the incomparable Julia Garner who steals the show.

The 10-part third season is gloriously back on track, with Linney truly coming into her own as the boiler-room fire in the hole.

Apr 8, 2020 | Full Review…

Ozark continues to prove why it's one of Netflix's very best shows. If you're sleeping on this series, it's time to wake up from that slumber and give this show the attention and recognition it so rightfully deserves.

Apr 7, 2020 | Full Review…

What really gives Ozark its grip is its portrayal of the corrosive trickle-down effect of moral hazard, intimated in the show's frequently subdued lighting and hostile green-hell landscapes.

Apr 6, 2020 | Rating: 5/5 | Full Review…

Is it good? It's not high art, but for what it is -- episodic prestige television in the age of plague -- yeah, maybe it is: Pretty, pretty good.

Audience Reviews for Ozark: Season 3

That Season 3 is only tracking at 87% amongst the people is a tragedy. So damn good !

Louder, sharper, deeper, and most importantly, much better than the first two seasons. Ozark finally comes into its violent, emotionally unhinged own with season 3. A fully-realised crime thriller that makes great use of its mastercast through consistently bold direction and drastically improved writing. As a result, the plot is more compelling and characters more emotionally accessible, features that, finally, make watching this series an engaging experience. One that you will most definitely grow to crave. It throws the kitchen sink at you, and you've got to give it credit for that —- even if it means slipping into partial emotionally manipulative melodrama from time-to-time. Iroh's grade: B+

OMG so freaking good, start to finish on the edge of my seat. My only regret is finishing too fast.

Ozark Season Three on Netflix continues the story of the Byrde family set six months after the ending of second season where Marty and Wendy Byrde have thrived on their river boat casino venture. This season Wendy's erratic brother moves in and Ruth falls in love with him. He causes trouble with the Kansas City mob and ends up being killed for little to no purpose by the hands of his sister. The ladies in this season fight for control and Wendy puts the family in trouble when she wants to expand the business but Marty wants to hold pat with the FBI on their heels being audited to make sure they are not washing money thru the casino floor. Overall the season was strong but slow at times it was slow and unsatisfying. I hope season four continues with grand master plan to destroy the rival cartel family.

Three brilliant seasons, each better than its predecessor. It is time this series joins the conversation with Breaking Bad and Mad Men as one of the all-time best shows. They'd have to botch this series really badly for it to fall out of the conversation.

Ozark is one of those Shows that is getting better and better. I mean the Performances especially, those of Laura Linney and from Tom Pelphrey, are superb and the Screenplay Writing in this Season is so good. Many Scenes were so Strong but as well hard to watch. This Season is a Dream. Still the Atmosphere mixed with the Score is great as well. RATING: 4,94

Good season not as good as the others but still good contagious viewing as you are invested in the characters since season 1, But Netflix ending this so early just makes me not to want to watch any of their shows, as they have no staying power, how can you tell a story if you know netflix will always end you so quickly, This season i would regard as more of a filler for better things to come, but we will never get to see it, one last season that's it, i feel cheated,

I'm pitching my tent in with the Byrde family. Marty continues to reliable as a software in terms of his money laundering skills. The kids have dug in deeper (very nice!)with the parents and Laura is coming out into her own as THE family member not to cross. She is fierce, determined, thinking and protective. They finally say "I love you" to each other. Ben is a fantastic entrant whose story is elevated by his character's back story and present predicament and emotions. Helen is devious (and scary). I am happy that Darlene is still around. The false note is Navarro - a very Narcos type, cliched character (deep voiced, lives in a mansion in Mexico, the shooting incident at the church)

A smartly written season where everything happens for a reason.
