Janet Fends Off Destiny's Child To Remain No. 10

Janet Jackson and Destiny's Child reign supreme on The Billboard Hot 100 for a second straight week, with Jackson's "All for You" at No. 1 and Destiny's Child "Survivor" right behind at No. 2. Janet is also the queen of Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, where her single also holds the top position for a second week. On that chart, "Survivor" also reaches a new peak position, hopping two slots to No. 6.

Both R&B singles are the title tracks for upcoming albums from the artists. Janet's Virgin album is due April 24, while Destiny's Child's Columbia set will hit shelves on May 1. "Survivor" also reaches a new peak position on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, hopping two slots to No. 6.

Two tracks that Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott" had a hand in post big gains on the Hot 100 this week. "Lady Marmalade," from the upcoming Nicole Kidman/Ewan McGregor film "Moulin Rouge," rockets 70-29. The track, featuring Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, and Pink, and produced by Elliott, is this week's fastest-growing track at radio, and with the fuel of an MTV "Making the Video" special, the single will likely continue to show gains. The Interscope soundtrack for "Moulin Rouge" will be released on May 8, while the film will open on June 1.

Elliott's own "Get Ur Freak On" also has a nice surge, shooting 44-31 on the Hot 100, and makes a move into the top-10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, jumping 18-10. Elliott will release her Gold Mind/Elektra album, "Addictive," as well as a DVD/VHS video collection, "Hits Of Miss E ... The Videos Volume 1," on May 1.

The Hot 100's fastest-growing track at retail this week is Lil' Mo's "Superwoman," which flies 83-69. The week's top debut is Tupac Shakur's "Until the End of Time" at No. 82. The track is at No. 35 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. The late rapper's two disc set, also titled "Until the End of Time" (Amaru/Death Row/Interscope), holds at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, yet falls to No. 2 in its second week on The Billboard 200.

As reported yesterday, the sixth volume of the various artists compilation "NOW That's What I Call Music!" made a powerful debut, selling more than 525,000 copies, according to SoundScan, to take the top spot on The Billboard 200. The album sold more first-week copies than any previous release in the series.

"NOW" was one of four albums to debut in the top-10 of The Billboard 200. R&B vocalist Ginuwine's "Life" (Epic) popped in at No. 3; Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's "Live in New York City" arrived at No. 5; and another deceased rapper, Big Punisher, shot straight to No. 7 with his "Endangered Species" (Loud).

Ginuwine and Big Punisher also post high marks over on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally, with "Life" crashing in behind Shakur at No. 2, and "Endangered Species" advancing 90 positions to No. 3.

The Mercury soundtrack to the Coen Brothers' "O Brother Where Art Thou?" once again finds its way to the No. 1 position on Billboard's Top Country Albums, where it has been for nine straight weeks. As for the Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, Jessica Andrews' "Who I Am" begins a third week at No. 1..
