A CHART ODYSSEY: The year 2001 is history, but this week's Billboard Hot 100 is still made up mostly of songs that peaked last year, including the No. 1 song, "How You Remind Me" (Roadrunner) by Nickelback. We may have to wait a while for the first new No. 1 hit of 2002, as there doesn't seem to be a strong challenger to the Nickelback single, which is in its fourth week in pole position. That puts "How You Remind Me" in a tie for sixth place among the longest-running chart-toppers of 2001.

With Janet Jackson's "All for You" taking top honors for the longest-running No. 1 hit of the year with a seven-week reign, 2001 is the first year since 1993 that there hasn't been at least one No. 1 hit with a double-digit run.

The last time the longest-running No. 1 of the year had a run of less than seven weeks was 1990, when Stevie B's "Because I Love You (The Postman Song)" was the year's most enduring chart-topper, with a reign of four weeks.
