Silvergate’s ‘Hilda’ Headed to Neflix

Silvergate Media secures commission with Netflix for its original children’s series based on the Eisner-Award nominated graphic novels by Luke Pearson.

LONDON -- Silvergate Media, has secured a deal with Netflix, the world’s leading Internet TV network, for their new animated children’s TV series called Hilda. Hilda will be available exclusively on Netflix worldwide from the beginning of 2018.

Only a small number of British properties have been bought by Netflix, of which Hilda is a leading example. This is a further demonstration of the close relationship between Silvergate and Netflix, following new European license deals with Netflix for Silvergate’s globally successful Octonauts program on April 6, 2016.

Based on the Eisner-Award nominated graphic novels by Luke Pearson and published by Nobrow, Silvergate Media, in collaboration with Mercury Filmworks, Hilda has been transformed into an incredible animated adventure for older kids. Hilda follows the adventures of a fearless blue-haired girl as she travels from her home in a vast magical wilderness full of elves and giants, to the bustling city of Trollberg, where she meets new friends and discovers mysterious creatures who are stranger, and more dangerous, than she ever expected.
