Heran Mamo is an Ethiopian American music journalist currently working as a Senior R&B/Hip-Hop/Afrobeats Writer at Billboard. Her work has previously been featured in The Hollywood Reporter and The Huffington Post, and she’s made appearances on NPR, Good Morning America and CBS News. She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2019 with a B.A. in journalism. Heran specializes in pop, hip-hop, R&B and Afrobeats music coverage and believes in amplifying the voices of underserved communities within the industry.
