Was excited to upgrade my evga gtx 960 which is pretty outdated compared to this gigabyte rtx 3060 until the problems I ran into. When I opened the package, I noticed the box was a generic black box, not the gigabyte box that shows you will get. When I opened that, I immediately saw no protection for the gpu, there was literally nothing protecting it, and inside was just the bare 3060. That made me skeptical. I installed and tested it out. I cleaned installed and updated all of Nvidia's drivers to the newest ones so the gpu could work properly. After I ran a benchmark, and saw that there were these white speckles that randomly appear on darker colors. And I also saw that there were these weird fragments showing up randomly over my display. I was like okay let me try playing Roblox just to see if it was the benchmarks fault. Surely enough, the same weird things happened. I then tried Fortnite, where that was just a mess. The white speckles still showed up and Fortnite crashed everytime I got to the lobby, I couldn't even make it out of the lobby no matter how many times I tried. Other games I played either had the framents or crashed right away. I searched everywhere for a fix and did every troubleshoot/solution I could find. Nothing changed. I had to take the Gigabyte 3060 out and put my evga 960 back in and everything worked just fine.
I contacted Gigabyte support and they were no help at all. I called and told them about my problem, and one of the support people said let me get your name and number so we can call you back to "resolve" your issue. Never got a call back. I then contacted the Gigabyte esupport, gave them all my info about my problem and the components I have (which are perfectly compactable), and still no answer even looking right now. This whole ordeal lasted 4 days of no support or contact from Gigabyte, where I finally decided to refund the gpu.
I decided to get a rtx 4060 ti 16gb (not from Gigabyte) and it came today. Installed it and what do you know, it works amazing, runs smooth, and has no problems what so ever. It handles everything I throw at it perfectly. Thinking back at it now, I am pretty sure I received a used or returned 3060. That just shows that Gigabyte doesn't care to test their returned products if they will send out a faulty one that easily. And on top of that, their "support" is horrendous from my personally experience. I just hope they don't try to send this faulty 3060 to someone else. But yeah, I will not be puchasing anything from Gigabyte ever again.
