This is a high quality battery backup for smartphone. I use it for my iPhone. I went with the this Anker Powercore II 6700mah because it complies to airline regulations, not just in the US but also in other countries. US regulations are more laxed and allow you to carry into the cabin up to ~20000mah lithium battery or ~100wh capacity. However if you travel on international business (or tourism), note that China regulations only allow up to 10000mah for carry on board lithium batteries (I recall this is the same in India). In some other countries like Thailand, if the lithium backup batteries are << 10000 mah, there is no specified limit on how many you can bring on board so I use two 6700mah batteries (instead of 1 large capacity battery) with a 4 port high current USB charger (so I can charge in parallel more than 1 backup battery if I need to). The larger size high capacity battery means you incur the risks of having to throw it away when you transit thru an International security checkpoint at an International airport. The Anker 6700mah has a very small size. You also need to ensure the backup battery clearly displays a printed label on its casing that clearly states its capacity (as is the case with this Anker one) in case security personnel checks it. Note that lithium batteries cannot be in checked luggage (with current regulations).
