I bought this to be a travel power strip. It is nice and thin. It is a little weird that the sockets pop up when you plug something in, but it makes sense since it is so thin. The USB ports are nice, so we don't always have to bring separate charger bricks.
I have not noticed any heat issues, but that could be how I am using it.
