It was a very pleasant experience.
However, the TV frame was apparently cracked in transport and the service claimed it could not be fixed, largely because of this, since it was out of their control. They refunded my money as they couldn't fix the TV or send me a new one. Sounds good, right?
Hold up. So these are the things that were established to me:
1. An Amazon service can't resend me a replacement TV I bought throgh Amazon.
2. They apparently can't fix a TV that has died, or even had a cracked frame. This begs the question; what exactly CAN they fix?
3. They can't do anything about damages through UPS even though they are STRICTLY a mail-back service for big, expensive appliances (damages through UPS are as inevitable as death and taxes).
4. Now that they refunded me the TV price (but not the warranty, in which they failed to provide any actual warranty service), the mumti-year(!) warranty is now "fulfilled" and I am no longer covered for the rest of that time period, even though they failed to provide any actual warranty service.
5. And finally, I can't get my money back for a service that provided me nothing it is designed to provide and frankly expressed a lack of even the ability to.
Quite clearly this is a scam because it's hard to believe a service that could work against a customer so blatantly could be done accidentally. This is not how a warranty works.
Will never buy an expensive appliance through Amazon ever again if this is the best they can provide. Inexcusable.
