I chose to purchase the extended warranty because I was purchasing a brand that I had not used before. It was a good move as I had to replace the original on the manufacture warranty and the second on the extended warranty. I contacted ASURION and they connected me with a repair person. The product was deemed to be unrepairable and ASURION reimbursed us,via a Amazon credit for the full amount immediately.
It was a very pleasant experience.

Wow! A Warranty that did what you would hope it would. My high end 65" TV suddenly stopped working. Oh No! Called up the Warranty opeople. The phone was answered, I was asked a couple of questions and told to try a couple things and then suddenly told , "O.K., we are referring you to this repair company, they will be out to repair it. The company called asked for a foto of what the screen looked liked ordered a new motherboard, got it, came out, fixed it. Great work. No questions. Amazing!. TV works great.

Warranty was purchased for a TV. TV has issues and dies mere weeks after receiving it. Set up the shipment which WAS admittedly smooth, especially seeing as I was provided the box.

However, the TV frame was apparently cracked in transport and the service claimed it could not be fixed, largely because of this, since it was out of their control. They refunded my money as they couldn't fix the TV or send me a new one. Sounds good, right?

Hold up. So these are the things that were established to me:

1. An Amazon service can't resend me a replacement TV I bought throgh Amazon.

2. They apparently can't fix a TV that has died, or even had a cracked frame. This begs the question; what exactly CAN they fix?

3. They can't do anything about damages through UPS even though they are STRICTLY a mail-back service for big, expensive appliances (damages through UPS are as inevitable as death and taxes).

4. Now that they refunded me the TV price (but not the warranty, in which they failed to provide any actual warranty service), the mumti-year(!) warranty is now "fulfilled" and I am no longer covered for the rest of that time period, even though they failed to provide any actual warranty service.

5. And finally, I can't get my money back for a service that provided me nothing it is designed to provide and frankly expressed a lack of even the ability to.

Quite clearly this is a scam because it's hard to believe a service that could work against a customer so blatantly could be done accidentally. This is not how a warranty works.

Will never buy an expensive appliance through Amazon ever again if this is the best they can provide. Inexcusable.

My experience with Asurion was outstanding. My TCL Roku 65" R635 TV died out of the blue and it turns out there is a notorious backlight problem with their TVs that's not mentioned during unboxing reviews. TCL gave me the runaround and I went to Asurion since I purchased the 4 year extended warranty. Without 2 days, they had a repairman come out and take the TV to get fixed. It turns out the backlight issue is so bad with TCL TVs that they are pretty much JUNKED when they go out as they can't be replaced properly. I find out even before being notified that Asurion had ALREADY ISSUED A REFUND to Amazon gift card for the purchase price of the TV within 48 hours of them taking the TV in for repair. I've NEVER experienced an insurance claim be paid out so fast with little to no effort or stress on my part. I've learned that TCL Roku tv's are junk and Asurion is absolutely excellent. Anyone who purchases an LED tv should absolutely consider getting the Asurion extended warranty. Check the BBB reviews and Roku community about TCL roku tv backlight NIGHTMARES and the crazy runaround that customers get from these guys. It's a small cost to guarantee you are covered.
