So, first off, so others don't fall into the same trap I did. As far as I can tell, this will ONLY charge MagSafe-compatible iPhones (the 12 and up.) If you try to use it with an older device that is Qi-only, the power bank will shut off a few seconds after the phone starts charging. This happens even if you have a case with 'MagSafe-compatible' magnets built in. Baseus does hint at this with the following notes, but they're not clear on this:"This wireless portable charger can work very well for iPhone 15/14/13/12 series with Magsafe case, and is not compatible with non-magnetic phone cases.""For technical reasons, the wireless charging mode of this power bank is not compatible with AirPods, but you can use the cable charging mode to charge AirPods."What's confusing is, I have another of their magnetic battery packs for review with seemingly identical specs (20W wired, 7.5W wireless charging, 5Ah capacity, it just lacks the kickstand) and it will charge Qi devices no problem. Again, Baseus doesn't state this is Qi-compatible, but some more clarity in the description would be nice. That, or just make it compatible like their other model (PPCXM05.)It did fill up my friends' iPhone 13 and 14s just fine, and as quickly as one would expect for 7.5W charging. It did get a little warm, but nothing out of the ordinary. The magnets were plenty strong, and kept it stuck to the phone with no issues.Using a USB-C power meter during charging from empty, the tested capacity was within margin to Baseus's rating (assuming 90% charge efficiency.) No issues there.As for the USB-C output, the 20W rating is accurate, and the battery is able to maintain this until it is essentially empty, 43 minutes later. During this, the surface near the bottom only became mildly warm. I'll include a list of supported PDOs at the bottom of this review. Interestingly, there are two PPS ranges.USB-C input is 5V at 2.4A (12W), on the slow side. Faster would be welcome, charging from completely dead takes around two hours and twenty minutes. Included is a 12" long USB-C to USB-C cable in white.As usual with Baseus products, this power bank is made quite well. The case plastics feel nice, the phone-facing side has a soft-touch coating for grip and scratch prevention, and the kickstand doesn't at all feel flimsy. The peppermint green color of my review sample is also quite lovely. It's pretty thick compared to the very similar PPCXM05 I mentioned above, and the corners are also much less rounded. I've included a picture comparing the two, with this PPCXZ05 in green and the PPCXM05 in purple. These combined make it not the most comfortable to hold, but it's not bad. I think Baseus intends you to mostly use this on a desk.So, for my conclusions:Lack of clarity on Qi support aside, this delivers on everything advertised. Price is good, but it's $3-5 more than Baseus's other 5000mAh magnetic power bank, with the only apparent benefit being the kickstand. Still, it's cheaper than similar options from Mophie and Anker with the same capacity.In most cases, I think you're better off with the Baseus PPCXM05 due to its slimmer body and added Qi compatibility, unless you specifically want the built-in stand.
