I have used it for about 2 weeks so far for my windows work laptop extending to two monitors. it really works well. I have had to buy a 100W USB C Charger separate though. All good except that I noticed that it gets hotter with usage. Not sure if it will cause any issues in the future.

EDIT: Editing my review as the seller has been extremely helpful in problem solving my issue and even offering a refund. The switch works great for my 2 pc, 2 monitor with keyboard and mouse setup. I think my issue just had to due with the hot key function, which should be able to be disabled.

Got this switch and it is easy to use and functional. However, I am having an issue where my monitors will disconnect randomly (on both of my computers so I know that isn’t the issue) and the only fix is to switch to the other computer and then back again. This is a continuous issue and a display connection might be limited error comes up. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

I wanted this item because I needed to connect my MacBook Pro to a computer monitor, in order to show my staff a presentation for work.

I plugged the device into my computer and it asked me if I want to allow this device to connect to my MacBook. I selected yes, and the power light on the device turns on indicating that the hub is powered on.

I take a brand new HDMI cord and plug it into my computer monitor and it’s not detecting any HDMI input. I thought maybe it was a setting issue with my computer, so I tried it on my boss’ MacBook. It also shows no picture from his as well. So it appears the hub device has some sort of manufacturer defect regarding the HDMI port. I have NOT attempted to try the other connections, as I specifically only needed the device for the HDMI connection.

I am very disappointed because the device hub itself looks very slick… I like how it sits flush with the computer. I also like how it doesn’t have a cord like similar hubs, so I don’t have to worry about a cord going bad. The downside is mine apparently has some sort of defect and I want my money back, but the UPS store is 25 minutes away from my work and literally is ONLY open during the hours I’m working. That means in order to get a refund I’d have to spend my entire hour lunch break driving back and forth to the UPS store.

So the item arrived quickly and worked flawlessly. I tested the hdmi since most reviews were saying it didn’t work…it worked fine for me. Usb ports works great as well as the sd card slot. The reason for only 3 stars is due to the fact it drains the battery on my macbook m2. My macbook relatively new and doesn’t have a bunch of apps installed. I was putting it to sleep and coming back to it the next day losing 20% or more in battery. Close it at 85% and come back 12 hours later and it’s at 61%. I was scratching my head trying to figure out why not even giving a second thought to the dongle. I put it to sleep with nothing plugged in so I wasn’t thinking that little led light would pull that much power.

I’m now checking the activity monitor and everything trying to figure this issue out and a buddy said, I’ll be it’s that dongle and I of course say no way. So I give it a shot and unplug it and sure enough…it was the culprit. I closed it up at 55% and came back to it around 14 hrs later and it was at 54%…sweet! I now just leave it unplugged until I need it. If it wasn’t for that it’d be 5 stars for sure.

Perhaps I got a dud and maybe I’ll send it back and exchange it for another one and if the issue persists I’ll just try a different one altogether. I really hate that we have to go through this just to get these ports as apple should have just integrated these into the laptop, especially at their price point. If they just couldn’t squeeze them in then at least include an official apple dongle, again, at their price point but, I digress. I’ll update this review about the replacement.

Don’t really need all the usb ports but love that it comes with sd slot and usb c. Like that it plugs in to be right against my mac but sometimes falls out (and I need to take off my case to make sure it actually connects). Still great and glad I got it.

The two Thunderbolt male ends on this are spaced properly and go easily into two of the Tbolt female ports on my macBook Pro (the laptop comes with 4 Tbolt female ports). This adapter goes into the female computer ports securely and is not loose. It does however use up 2 Tbolt female ports and only gives me one Tbolt female port in the adapter. The macBook Pro is very difficult to use day-to-day without an adapter and/or a USB hub. I don't know why Apple decided to provide only 4 Tbolt ports and no USB ports, when so many things have USB male ends. This adapter is attractive and I recommend it.
