The Awardist Critics' Choice Awards 2019: See the full winners list By Henrique DaMour Published on January 13, 2019 06:40PM EST Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images (3) The critics have spoken. On Sunday night, the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association bestowed their annual Critics’ Choice Awards, honoring achievement in movies and TV over the past year. Alfonso Cuarón’s black-and-white family drama Roma was named Best Picture, while Christian Bale picked up two acting honors for his portrayal of former Vice President Dick Cheney in Vice (he won both Best Actor and Best Actor in a Comedy), and a tie meant both Glenn Close and Lady Gaga went home with Best Actress honors. That wasn’t the night’s only tie — in an earlier moment, Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette embraced one another as they both won Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made For Television for their respective roles in Sharp Objects and Escape at Dannemora. Supporting actor and actress accolades went to Mahershala Ali for Green Book and Regina King for If Beale Street Could Talk. On the television side, The Americans was crowned Best Drama Series, while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won the comedy category. In recent years, the Critics’ Choice Awards have been a somewhat accurate — but not infallible — predictor of Oscar success. Since 2008, the CCAs have correctly predicted the eventual Oscars winner for Best Picture seven times, Best Actor eight times, and Best Actress six times. Taye Diggs hosted this year’s ceremony, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. See the full list of winners below.
