Giacomo Gianniotti has booked a recurring role opposite Karen Gillan and John Cho in ABC/Warner Bros TV single-camera comedy Selfie. Written by Emily Kapnek and directed by Julie Anne Robinson, Selfie centers on Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan), a self-obsessed twentysomething who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. Gianniotti will play Freddy, a handsome, smart young lawyer who is a major shareholder at the company where Eliza and Henry (Cho) work. Gianniotti, repped by Thruline and The Characters Agency, recurs on CW’s Reign and will next shoot a supporting role in Stephen Hopkins’ Race.
Andy Ridings (Hearts Unarmored) and Dylan Gelula (Jennifer Falls) have been cast in NBC comedy series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, from Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. It stars Ellie Kemper as the wide-eyed Kimmy who, after 15 years of living in a cult, decides it’s time to reclaim her life and heads to New York. Ridings, repped by Stone Manners Salners and Vincent Nastri of Bleecker Street Entertainment, will play Charles. Gelula, repped by Paradigm and Christopher Nathaniel at Industry Entertainment, will play Xanthippe’ (Xan for short), the stepdaughter of Jane Krakowski’s character, a pretty and popular New York City ‘cool’ kid whose confidence and attitude belie a sensitive and sweet interior. Gelula also recurs on ABC Family’s Chasing Life.
