'Juvenile Justice' Season 2 cancellation by Netflix angers K-Drama fans

The production of Juvenile Justice’s second season has been canceled, as confirmed by Netflix, the South Korean news agency Star News reported on January 27, 2023. Many K-drama lovers are shocked and upset that the show won't be renewed for a second season.

One of the most watched legal and crime-based Korean dramas on Netflix, Juvenile Justice, is focused on juvenile law. Kim Hye-soo, Kim Mu-yeol, Lee Sung-min, and Lee Jung-eun serve as the main characters in the first season's ten episodes. Director Hong Jong-chan and screenwriter Kim Min-sook were in charge of the drama.

Juvenile Justice was the top-ranked non-English TV series on Netflix at the time of its premiere in February of last year, enjoying enormous popularity and acclaim among fans worldwide. The streaming giant decided to cancel it owing to the nature of their business, despite their popularity and viewership.

Netflix is an established streaming service, and it is known for its data-driven approach to programming. Dramas that don't do well will eventually have their production canceled. Although Juvenile Justice 2 was renewed, the drama genre may have made it seem like the show wouldn't be able to draw in a large audience. This justification, however, does not support the production's cancellation.

Even the actors and filmmakers had previously stated that they would like to see Juvenile Justice 2, but the K-drama's production was abruptly canceled during the pre-production phase. Furthermore, according to reports, Juvenile Justice 2's producers held an audition to find fresh actors to play the role of students.

Unfortunately, the auditions came to an abrupt end when the organizers informed the applicants that Juvenile Justice 2 has been cancelled and no more auditions will be held.

Juvenile Justice 2 fans are upset to learn that the show's production has been canceled because it left the story on a cliffhanger. Some of the show's fans went on to say that other K-dramas in a similar genre that were renewed for the season should be canceled as well.
