Glen Powell to star in ‘Heaven Can Wait’ Remake

Hollywood hit man (pun absolutely intended) Glen Powell is attached to another high-profile project, with Paramount setting their sights on remaking Warren Beatty‘s Heaven Can Wait for the big screen. Stephen Gaghan is set to write the screenplay based on a movie that centered on an NFL quarterback who dies prematurely and is resurrected through the body of a recently murdered millionaire.

The new movie will not center on a football player but will retain the same body-switching approach from the original source material. However, it’s not said to be a full-on remake.

With Hit Man about to release in select cinemas, Glen Powell is on quite the hot streak after starring in Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone but You, which were two of the most successful post-pandemic theatrical releases. Powell will also be seen in Lee Isaac Chung‘s Twisters, alongside attached to star in Edgar Wright‘s remake of The Running Man and a new original movie from J.J. Abrams, whose plot is kept under wraps.

Powell was also one of the executive producers of the J.J. Abrams-backed The Blue Angels, which will be released on Prime Video this Friday.

Huh. You know, I never made the connection before, but Glen Powell‘s star persona does give off serious Warren Beatty vibes. It’s so easy for me to picture him giving very similar performances in Bonnie and Clyde, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, and The Parallax View.
