Marty Byrde, a fictional character involved in money laundering in the Netflix show "Ozark," now the namesake of a local bar.

Brent Boyle, who's been a restaurant owner at the Lake of the Ozarks for over 24 years said with the show's continuing success, he wanted to see something based on the show actually exist at the lake.

"They had the Blue Cat Marina and Lickety Splits, and none of that is here at the lake. Anybody who comes to the lake knows that," Boyle said.

KY3/KSPR got a tour of the new restaurant, which includes an outisde patio bar and an indoor bar and seating area.

"Right now it's open air, and so we're a little worried about the weather. So we put plastic up to keep the place warm for the weekend," Boyle said, during the unofficial opening during the Pub Crawl.

Aside from the main character's namesake, the restaurant will also have a few menu items based off of the show as well.

"'Ruth's Smoked Wings', she happens to electrocute her brothers, and we have 'Darlene's Killer Lemonade,' it's a spiked lemonade. Again, if you've seen the show, you'd understand that," Boyle said.

There is no set date for a grand opening of "Marty Byrde's," but Boyle hopes it will be before St. Patrick's Day.

As for any copyright issues with Netflix?

"So, I checked with a copyright attorney, and he told me that there may be an issue, I might get a cease and desist, but we'll deal with all of that when it happens," Boyle said.

Boyle said he wanted to respect his neighboring restaurants and bars, and not compete with them when it comes to menu items. Marty Byrde's will feature a steak sandwich, bratwurst, hot dogs, and more, all costing $7 or less.
