Television actor Saanand Verma, popularly known as Mr Saxena of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, is on cloud nine these days. The actor has reportedly bagged a significant role in Netflix crime thriller Sacred Games 2.

Yes, you read that right. He will be playing a negative character named Purshottam, who is an Indian origin foreign based businessman.

While talking to SpotboyE, Verma confirmed the news and said, "My character's name is Purshottam, an Indian origin foreign based businessman who might seem innocent and good natured to the world, but actually has a grey shade and deals in illegal trade. It's vastly different from what I do in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain or from my last film. While I have a few scenes with Saif Ali Khan, I share major screen space with Nawazuddin. My struggle and life story is very similar to that of Nawazuddin and somewhere I believe we have both faced the same hurdles in life. However, just like him I used my slow growth to learn all that I can, and it's quite a thrilling opportunity to work and spend time with him."

"...So after Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, Sacred Games is truly one such project where the sky is the limit. Anurag Kashyap is one of my dream directors to work with and I have always been fascinated by the genre of his films. Working with him on such a massively popular project is nothing short of an honour to me and I thank my stars in abundance for this. I also dream to work one day in a Steven Spiellberg or James Cameron film and hope to make this a reality at some point in my life."

Anurag Kashyap will be directing the series along with Neeraj Ghaywan of Masaan fame. Vikramaditya Motwane, who co-directed the first season with Kashyap will have overall creative authority and management responsibility .

Kashyap and Motwane, who co-directed the show, have been in the news due to their alleged complacency in dealing with sexual harassment accusations against their former Phantom Films partner Vikas Bahl by an employee.

Netflix also said it will continue to work with writer Varun Grover on season 2 of crime drama Sacred Games too. Grover's name emerged in the #MeToo wave when a woman anonymously alleged that in the Banaras Hindu University in 2001, he touched her inappropriately. He denied it by calling it a "baseless fabrication".
