The fifth annual BooktubeSFF Awards Shortlists have been announced. Mavroudis Wins Scholarship From Hell

The Horror Writers Association (HWA) announced Thomas Mavroudis as the recipient of its 2019 Scholarship From Hell. The scholarship places writers in the intensive Horror University workshop, which will take place during StokerCon 2019.

Mavroudis will receive airfare to and from the StokerCon venue, a four-night stay at the convention, membership for StokerCon 2019, and his choice of the Horror University workshop classes.

Hedge fund Man Group will no longer sponsor the Booker Prize, effective after the 2019 prizes are presented. The Man Group has contributed £25 million to the prize since its sponsorship began in 2002, including £1.6 million for the 2019 prize. Katherine Paterson won the $10,000 E.B. White Award for achievement in children’s literature, given by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Paterson’s genre work includes Bridge to Terabithia, for which she won the Newbery Medal in 1978.
