The Duke and Duchess of Sussex enjoyed a night at the Natural History Museum this evening (12 February) to attend a gala performance of The Wider Earth, a play about a young Charles Darwin.

Meghan was elegant for the outing in a fitted Calvin Klein turtleneck dress, with a co-ordinating cream Amanda Wakeley coat. She finished the look with Ralph Lauren court shoes and a matching Ralph Lauren clutch bag, with her hair in a neat chignon.

The gala performance of the critically acclaimed production was held in aid of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust, of which Harry and Meghan are both patrons, and the play's official partner, the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy - a network of forest conservation programmes.

Their appearance came just hours after George Clooney made headlines with his comments about the way Meghan is treated by the tabloid press. The actor, who attended the couple's royal wedding in May, said that the duchess is being "vilified".

"She's a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was, and it's history repeating itself," he said. "And we've seen how that ends."
