Renewal Scorecard 2016

2016 Renewal Scorecard: What's Coming Back? What's Getting Cancelled? What's on the Bubble?

TVLine’s annual index of relief, anxiety and utter despair known as the Renewal Scorecard has arrived!

From now until late May, ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and The CW will determine which shows are good to return for another season… and which will join Revenge over at the MIA Network.

To help you monitor what’s staying, what’s going and what’s anxiously riding the “bubble,” we once again present you with our easy-to-browse cheat sheet.

We’ll be updating this list regularly with the latest industry intel — including info on full-season pickups! — so we strongly suggest you bookmark this puppy and check back for updates. As a reminder, the eight levels in TVLine’s reliable renewal grid are as follows:

♦ Officially renewed
♦ A sure thing

  1. KayCeeCee says:

I like having Wesley Snipes and Philip Winchester on my TV. I hope that The Player is able to turn it around!

  2. Tybois says:

Isn’t it a little early for the scorecard? We are only 4 weeks into the season. :)

    • John NYC says:

That’s three weeks after the doomsayers starting digging graves for some of the shows….

    • Castlefan says:

Early, but you can tell how some shows are going: Castle slipping fast; Bones and The Good Wife probably better than their last season; Elementary not started yet but the previews already look more fun than the end of last year.

      • Slayer says:

Slipping fast? Well for now it’s average is 1.2 counting all four episode. The only slip we’ve seen is from the previous season finale to this season’s premier, 1.4 to 1.2. Some are still curious how things will go or perhaps there will be the straw that broke the camel’s back. However it’s no rocket science that the number of viewers have dropped from what was once 8-10million for 6 seasons go down to 6million…

        • rusty_cd says:

I think Castlefan meant the quality of the show is slipping fast and not the actual Nielsen numbers.

          • prish says:

Wasn’t there some article title that said “series low”?

          • Castlefan says:

Thank you, I did. I’m overseas and have no idea of ratings. Unfortunately it’s the storyline that is likely to sink what was a wonderful show. I’d really like to be positive, but it’s just not working. I’m watching now out of loyalty and hope rather than actual enjoyment.

          • star says:

.8 is slipping fast thats all they received this week

          • Laura says:

Imagine what will happen next year without beckett . I hope they cancel the show this season with the whole cast.

        • shirley says:

I do hope that the new head runners are making good judgement as to the way they are making changes to the show.
I have been with Castle since the beginning.
I will stay till the end.
The new producers are telling us that they want to get it back to where prople loved the show.
          I still love the show.
Mistakes where made by the previous show runners that caused much anger among the fans.
Sometimes those things are not easily fixed.
Let hope we get the numbers back up.

          • claudette says:

I hope they don’t cancel castle I am a true fan

          • Brent Guy says:

I can’t stand all the family crap in Castle…his mother and daughter gag me and Castle himself is arrogant…the whole premise of a writer working cases with the NYPD is absurd and him questioning and accusing suspect is beyond stupid…how did the NYPD ever solve a case until Mr fat boy Castle came along…a total waste and hope they dump it!!

          • Linda says:

I am a true fan of castle myself I have all of the seasons. I heard a rumor that the writers are breaking up Castle and Kate next Monday Kate tells castle she wants a divorce…:( they have always been a cute couple why break them up? Please Don’t Break up Castle and Kate!!!

          • Laura says:

Stana was fired (and probably be killed in the last episode of the season) so for the show to get back to what people loved is impossible.

        • shirley says:

As a castle viewer for all of the seasons I have read thatthe new shoe runners are trying to get it back to where people loved the show.
I believe the previous show runners made some mistakes that made the “fans” made and have possibly moved away due to anger.
It can be hard to fix that problem.
I am sticking the Castle as I always have.
They are telling us that we are going to be pleased with with is going to happen in the coming weeks.
If Nathan and Stana along with ABC are happy, then so am I.
Been there from the beginning, will be there till the end

          • Dr. Enie says:

I am addicted and have been a fan since the beginning. However, if they do another. Innocuous show like last night 11/9 it wears thin. Don’t let Castle play the weak person. Remember how he beat up Beckett’s nemesis who tried to kill her. Let the macho out and give strength to the show! Thee rest of the season may not save the show. ABC has not given the support it should. Fillion and Katic haven’t either, and I know that they are terrific actors! Discouraged, Dr. Enie

          • Kathleen Bergeron says:

I used to love CASTLE. It was my favorite show for the first six years. Then last year they had that idiotic “disappearing” storyline–followed by this season when the writers have individually and collectively lost their minds. I now tolerate it and spend most of the hour screaming at the TV–and yes, this week’s episode was the WORST–I agree. After the long hiatus that is coming up, I think all that will be heard when they come back is the sound of crickets chirping where the viewers used to be. I wish it was not so–but clearly Nathan has other projects he wants to pursue and Stana almost did not re-sign at all–it would be much better if she had not.

          • i love castle please don’t cancel it.

          • B. Boor says:

I am a newcomer to the show, but have been bing watching all episodes. Some better than others, but this is true of most tv. If you cannot find a connection with “Caskett” there is something wrong. Please continue the show; we don’t need another reality freak show.

          • betty white says:

Castle & Beckett are unique & their family & friends compliment each other. theres confusion in all relationships, so everyone hang in there. they are to good to give up on.

        • jahoney1 says:

The most important number is the 28-30 percent drop in the demos rating from 1.3 to 1.0. Castle is also losing ABC about half a million dollars per episode in advertising revenue compared to season seven. Castle is in serious trouble hence the change in the hiatus structure. With numbers sliding down in the most important demographic 18-49 Castle is barley breaking even right now. Maybe making a little money if it is lucky.

          • court says:

I don’t think Castle will last much longer either, and I hope the writers are prepared for the worst, because it will be a miracle if it makes it one more season.
I have been a massive fan for so long and I have all the seasons and have seen all the episodes. Season 8 has been awful. It has been weak, they are running out of new plotlines and we all now the Stana wasn’t keen to jump on board this season either. You can see that she’s lost her spark, the show bores her now like it bores everyone else. There is no excitement, no romantic tension because they’re actually together now. Kate isn’t pregnant or anything (which you would think would be the endgame, considering children kind of end the excitement in the show *cough* Bones *cough*). And I honestly love the early seasons of Castle. It was amazing. Now it’s just being dragged along. I hope they either wrap it up this season to save the next wave of awful critics, or see if it gets better to put out a renewal. If not, I think they should deliver a half season to wrap things up completely and throw out a non-sloppy ending (like what the did with the Mentalist – which I can say was always a good show, I’m very, very sad that it has ended)

        • shirle says:

Wait till season 9 you want to see nymbers change quickly.

      • Barry says:

It will take an act of God for Castle to be renewed. These two showrunners are total, 100% assclowns — who have managed to destroy my 7 years of Monday night TV enjoyment quicker than I could have ever predicted. I hope they both grows a boil the size of a silver dollar on their pathetic asses.

        • Kathy Bergeron says:

I literally applauded when I read this. Couldn’t agree more. I spend my Castle viewing time now screaming obscenities at the TV. I used to look forward to the show so much, but talk about a disappointment this year. Stick a fork in it already – it us done!

        • jahoney1 says:

This kind of writing and story line I expected from Alexi Hawley. He originally left Castle over creative differences with Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller. He did not want Castle and Beckett to get together at all. He was the show runner on the Fox TV show “The Following” which while having a low total viewership maintained a heathy demos rating until he took over. The Following tanked and was cancelled by Fox. State of Affairs was a show he created on NBC. When it arrived on TV it was DOA. After 13 episodes he was forced off his own show while NBC tried to save it. I expected better from Terrance Paul Winters though. He has written and lead some amazing tv shows. He has won four Emmy awards for being a writer, executive producer for the tv show “The Soprano’s”. Even though they call them co-showrunners I get the impression that Alexi has final say in a lot of things.

          • SO says:

This is an old posting & now that they have let Stana & Tamala go & not bringing them back partly due to Nathan hating Stana, negotiating for 3 months for his season 9 & what ABC said is budgetary reasons, rumors have it they are killing her off or having her in a coma & the rest moving to LA for the PI Investigations business.

        • Sydney Kyle says:

          Wow

      • Joan Horrocks says:

We are going to be left with boring reality tv where a ton of morons show you their life or run naked in the jungle instead of interesting exciting and teaching shows like Bones, CSI Cyber. I do not Know where entertainment fell into stupid but I am finding myself watching old shows like Facts of Life Full House and Star Trek Next Generation to watch without 200 sex or crotch words or 100 gays kissing, or some deliquents cursing at each other. I can see all that in the news or on the street. Give me old time tv. Entertaining, no shock value, or played scenes. How about people who really care about each other or do something nice. Mysteries of Laura….a cop show that wasn’t all about men in charge…nope lets keep stupid shows like Naked and Afraid where people with inflated egos run naked through the woods and cry!

        • Richard Young says:

I finally found out what NBC stands for. “Numbskull Brainless Clods”.

          • Kathie says:

YES!! I love it!! So true!
I recorded tonight’s finale. Waiting to hear if it was happy or sad before I watch it. I feel sick to my stomach, just thinking it’s over, but
better that than trying to go
            on without Beckett. (or Lanie)

        • I am so mad they canceled Castle, it was one of my favorite shows.

    • AHW says:

You’re right. It’s much too soon to start predicting renewals, except for the absolute dregs that will make a rapid exit.

    • Jj says:

It’s very late for NBC and Fox…. just saying.

    • And I still hate the way they are spitting the season, it seems like it’s worse this year. We got like 8 weeks of episodes and then wait until January. So much continuity is lost. I’m disabled and watch a lot of T.V. I supposed I should get used to old reruns from shows that have been on for a long time. Right now it’s Criminal Minds, 73 on my DVR…ugh :-(

      • Tom Johnston says:

Right ! Never understood stopping a show in the winter when everyone is stuck indoors to watch TV. Then start it up in the summer when everyone is outside enjoying the weather……

        • Tidly winks says:

What do you expect from broadcasting terrorist. Consistency? How about loyalty? It seems to be all about trending with degrading horror, sex exploitation, and gross violence. This requires the lowest level of intelligence, and a twisted level of understanding. The games in programming is degrading my loyalty toward the networks.

  3. Chris says:

Michael Emerson told at New York Comic Con that the fifth season will be the final on CBS.

  4. Mr. Tran K says:

Would be great if 2BG gets a Season Six but I still hope that POI should get a proper “final season” even though it’s going to have just 13 episodes.

  5. Kathleen Bergeron says:

Just wondering how Hrimm can be listed as a safe bet when it hasn’t premiered yet. I like that show, don’t get me wrong, but it seemed a little odd.

  6. priscilla says:

I’m a fan of Reign but I am not a fan of mary and Francis. I thought the chemistry with Louie Conde was hot. The sexual tension between them you could cut with a knife. Hopefully they could somehow get back together if francis is really dying.

    • MFL says:

I’m kinda hoping that too but Sean Teale the actor who plays Conde was cast as the lead in a new series so I’m doubtful he’ll be on Reign

    • Marilene says:

I hope Reign makes it. I love Mary and Francis together. I actually love all the characters. They are great together. It is one of the best shows on this channel and it is marked as ‘could go either way’. WTH.

      • SBW says:

I’m in agreement with you. It is so nice to have a show about royalty life. It’s not easy sitting on a throne. I’m shocked they killed Francis off. I enjoyed the couple and the perils trying to maintain their positions and reputation. I hope they can bring Francis back.

      • shrishty says:

i too hope reign makes it, i’m watching a lot of shows right now and reign is the besttt

        • Yess exactly I’ve been in love with reign since day one. I hope we don’t lose such a great show. It broke my heart to see Francis leave, I was a huge team Frary supporter. When he died it made me wonder if this would be the last season. Although I really do hope it makes it, the show really has me at the heart strings!

          • My boyfriend got me into watching reign and it’s one the show on tv , I only wish it was a two hour show. I’m so happy it been renewed thank you, thank you

    • Jan Chilton says:

Reign is one of my all-time favorite shows. But after they changed it to that deadly 8pm Friday schedule, it was obvious they either intended to kill it outright, or expected it to fail already. And then they turn around and renew that inane “Jane the Virgin”. The people running these stations are idiots!

    • Phoenix5634 says:

I think CW should cancel jane the virgin and iZombie. and CW should renew TO, TVD, and Reign.

      • Alexia says:

Why would the CW cancel Jane? It’s obviously doing better than other series on the network in terms of storytelling if it’s the CW’s first award winning show

  7. Win says:

Haha – I remember dating someone who watched a reality show on ABC called The Family that was hosted by George Hamilton. I know it’s not the same show, but it makes me laugh to see that title on that network. I wonder if the M.I.A. Network secured the rights to the other one…

  8. Clari says:

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Too early to tell
It is sure to be renewed because of syndication.

    • Katie T says:

Agree with this. There’s no way they’re not getting it to season 4 given ABC/Disney own it. It’s doing fairly decent numbers too when you compare it to other shows that have made it to syndication before like Revenge

      • Dj says:

When its a marvel show you can’t judge it by ratings. Disney will look at things like how it does overseas which it seems to be profitable there. Getting it to 88 episodes is something I think they will do for sure.

  9. j says:

I wouldn’t call The Good Wife a safe bet. They’ve been hinting that season 7 would be the last for years.

    • danyelle says:

considering all the scoops he has about Good Wife, I’ll assume Ausello knows things lol

    • Castlefan says:

i was surprised too, but I do think the new season is looking promising.

    • Stacy says:

Yes, but if that was set in stone then wouldn’t the promos be hailing this as the final season? I’m not saying it wasn’t or isn’t the plan, but there is definitely wiggle room. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they squeeze out another year. it will probably include some artistic-marketing catchphrases like “new beginnings” or “going in a new direction” or “moving on to the next chapter”.

    • Bev says:

I like that they take some current topics to argue and give arguments on both sides – makes you think

  10. Gary says:

After these 3 first episodes of Agents of Shield can we just change it to Renewed, there is no doubt in my mind it will only get better with time.

  11. Gary says:

God that Hannibal cancellation still hurts.

  12. jd says:

I thought Blindspot was already renewed?

  13. LILY says:

I’m not ready for Bones to end, so I sure hope we’re getting S12.

    • castle lover says:

i know but i thought the lead said that it might be the last season. i think that it will be and the same with the boring Castle!

    • Castlefan says:

I’d love it to continue too – season 11’s looking more promising than season 10 so far – but I don’t think it’s a ‘safe bet’ when one of the leads says otherwise! A 12th season would take them to over 250 episodes which would be an incredible achievement.

    • Amy says:

Bones is getting better and better. But seeing how we keep losing characters to death or lack of promotion, I can’t help but to think they’re planning for the end. I’m not ready to lose another FOX show. No more Fringe, Alcatraz, Human Target, Almost Human. What will I do? I’ll only have Sleepy Hollow, and what if they don’t renew?

      • kmw says:

Bones is definitely getting better and now that they have some momentum of sorts FOX is taking it off the air for at least 4 more months after fall finale. That being said its up to the actors. Boreanaz said he was done but he has said that numerous times. Since Bones will most likely be running into the summer again there is time to negotiate.

      • GREG HOFFMAN says:

I loved Fringe !!! Clearly they were getting desperate for plots though. It was a great premise and an interesting concept…the actors were good. Good to see few have gone on to new series (Elementary and Switchers.

  14. smartysenior says:

Love Limitless, it’s one of the few that has the chops to go on for many seasons.

    • Joni says:

Hi smartysenior, I’m really enjoying ‘Limitless’ too so I’m happy it’s doing well enough to probably get a 2nd season.

    • rowdyred says:

I agree! The lead actor (Jake McDorman) is terrific in the role, and I enjoy an occasional surprise glimpse of Bradley Cooper now and again too. Fun stuff!

      • Michele Best says:

I’m afraid for me that is one they could cancel. The movie was fun. The series is missing something.

        • Phoenix5634 says:

I agree, the show is missing something that the movie did perfectly. Absolutely loved the movie, was really excited when I heard about the show, and it’s really good, but is it missing something that the movie did way better, can’t pinpoint it tho. Maybe it’s just as simple as how they show NZT working. I like the episodes with Bradley Cooper most.

    • Not even seeing the movie I love this show and I think Cooper Bradley (the star from the movie) is cool for being in it, :)

  15. LaVerne says:

Will Murder In The First be back again this summer?

  16. j Sturm says:

Undateable is amazing live, it better get another season

    • Chad Prier says:

I whole heartedly agree. Loved Undateable since the first show. It make Fridays worth watching tv again. Even tho its 30 min at 7 central time.

  17. Mr. Tran K says:

Here’s my prediction on shows that should get a proper “final season”: Person of Interest, The Good Wife and Bones. Not so sure whether or not Blue Bloods will end after this season.

  18. Becky says:

Thanks for putting this together. I refer to it on and off through the season. I wish you could put ‘officially renewed’ next to The X-Files. My hope is that it will be good enough (and rated high enough) to get everyone to sign on for more.

    Thanks again.

    • Theresa Purdy says:

Yes I will love to see more of person of Interest to stay on,and bring the Unit back.

      • Ernie says:

Person Of Interest is the best show on tv so I’m sure we can count on the fools over at CBS to cancel it. Guess they have to make more room for that reality show trash.

  19. cheryl says:

so many more needs to be cancelled , not worth watching.

  20. Liz says:

Since Forever got cancelled and they let Galavant stay, I hope Galavant goes bye bye. If they cancel Castle that’s it for me. There isn’t anything else on ABC I want to see.

    • castle lover says:

me too the only show that i really watch an any of these was Castle.

    • Night Owl says:

If they are going to cancel Castle, I would at least like to see them do it gracefully. At least give them a final season. Shortened if they must, although not like CSI…One and done.

  21. I thought wayward pines was cancelled?

    • Jess says:

It’s supposed to be a limited series. TPTB said it wasn’t coming back, so i’m pretty sure it’s done.

      • Scott says:

Under the dome was supposed to be only 10 episode mini series and ended up getting 3 or more seasons. So I could see wayward Pines coming back. They kinda set it up like it would

    • Guy says:

It was an event series only meant for one season, but apparently they are interested in the possibility of bringing it back since it pulled in solid ratings this summer, if Shyamalan and the author of the books come up with a story for another season.

  22. Karen says:

Hate to see Person of Interest (a long shot) and Elementary (could go either way) cancelled.

  23. Kelly says:

What about the CW’s Significant Mother? I loved that show.

  24. JD says:

Why is the Middle always “a safe bet” instead of “a sure thing” when it routinely does better than the The Goldbergs and beats most other shows in both the demo and total viewers on Wednesday nights? When will this show get some respect?

    • Mac says:

Routinely does better than The Goldbergs? It hasn’t even beaten Goldbergs once this season in the demo.

The fact that ABC needs to renew The Goldbergs for a 4th to enter syndication makes it a sure thing over a show that is well into syndication and is getting increasingly expensive to produce.

      • T says:

Plus Goldbergs is better! I like The Middle and watch them both but I would pick the Goldbergs over the Heck’s any day to watch if I could only watch one!

        • Roby says:

I think the Middle is the best show on TV. I love the narration. The acting is fantastic, the humor is laugh out loud funny. Some parts really can and have happened…. Better than gore, violence, and sex that comes with many shows. It’s Emmy worthy but Modern Family seems to rule with its social correctness.

  25. Petar says:

Person of Interest is actually cancelled, this 5 season will be it’s last.

  26. Anthony says:

Wayward Pines is a safe bet ?!?!

    • Jess says:

I thought it wad a limited series and there wasn’t going to be a second season. At least that’s what everyone involved said.

      • Peegee says:

I thought that as well, but I hope it doesn’t get into a draggy series like some others where the entire plot is killing the abbies

  27. Donna says:

Please don’t let Nashville get cancelled! My favorite show!!

  28. Phlerg says:

I predict Blood & Oil will be cancelled, and Wicked City looks awful, so it won’t last long. I gave up on Nashville this year, so I’d like that to be cancelled so Connie can head back to AHS.

    • lorna says:

Ummmm, no. Nashvile is great this season, and I love the music.

    • Nashville? Why? Connie go back to AHS, um ok? That’s ok with me but what is wrong with Nashville?

      • GREG HOFFMAN says:

What wrong with Nashville…well I’ll tell ya. It”s a soap opera, if I wanted a soap opera I’d watch daytime t.v.

    • Carol Tolbert says:

Nashville is the best thing on TV. No promotion from ABC in a terrible time slot. It actually has gotten better this season than last. I agree Blood and Oil is not very good and Wicked City doesn’t look much better. Chace Crawford and Ed Westwich were great in Gossip Girl but not cut out for these types of roles. Just can’t see Ed Westwich playing a murderer after Gossip Girl which I loved him in.

      • Liberty says:

I have it on good authority- I’m friends with a main character on the show- they will begin filming the next season of Nashville soon. I’m happy, because it’s one of my favorites too, and not just because a friend is a lead!

  29. Murica! says:

All i care about is POI. I hope this isn’t the last season!

    • Moonlight4evr says:

POI is the best written/acted show on CBS. Why&show it only received a 13 episode order is a mystery that only Sherlock can solve! If this show is not picked up for an additional 9 episodes and renewed for season 6 then I will be boycotting all CBS shows again.

  30. It really sucks that Minority Report isn’t doing better because it’s one of the first new shows to impress me this season, and the best of Fox’s new shows.

  31. Jane says:

Please CW renew The Originals forever !!!!!!!

    • Donna says:

They got a little wobbly this season. A lot of people introduced, with awkward flashbacks…. When you can’t follow all the stores and why characters are there dulls the viewer, and worse makes you not care.

I love the show, love the locale, and love the tension of the main characters.
Been liking Os better than the terribly confusing VDs. Although that actually has gotten a teensy bit better into this season now that whiny Elena is gone…

    • Originals is going??? NO,NO.NO. How about TVD?

    • Phoenix5634 says:

Agree with Jane, keep The Originals going forever lol. But seriously, multiple more seasons. And TVD atleast 1 or 2 more, then sign the best main cast over from TVD over to TO when TVD eventually finishes. KEEP THE ORIGINALS AND THE VAMPIRE DIARIES GOING FOR YEARS MORE!

  32. I love Scorpion, but I’m definitely surprised it’s listed as a sure thing. I thought the ratings were pretty low, but perhaps I misread something or am just not getting how this all works.

  33. How is TO “coukd go either way”?Its safe for syndication & doing better than CEG& Reign.CEG is gonna be cancelled after its initial 13,not too early to tell that after its awful premire ratings. Why is Reign “along shot”?Ratings aren’t good but it should be safe for syndication too,

    • Katie says:

I was thinking the same thing about TO myself. “Could go either way?” What the heck? It may not have the ratings of say, Scandal, but it has a nice, solid fan base that loves it (like ME!). I don’t even watch any other show but TO on CW. BTW, what idiot over at the CW moved it from Mondays at 7 P.M. to Thursdays at 8 P.M. knowing full well what shows it was up against? It should have STAYED on Mondays for crying out loud. It was fine in that slot! And don’t give the excuse that putting it after TVD would be good for pulling in more fans for it. That is bull. I should know better than to give any sort of credit for brain power to network execs.

      • Kim says:

They were trying to pair shows together better. TO with Jane was a horrible combo. Monday’s at 7? Nope, it was on a 8pm here so you must be in a different time zone. It’s on Thursdays at 9pm here. I like it better on Thursdays because my Mondays are so packed. I don’t get the “could go either way” status either. I’d think it’d be more of a safe bet. Reign is a long shot because it’s ratings have been sliding – and they put it on Friday nights. With costumes and sets, whatever (I don’t watch it) they may find it too cost prohibitive to go another year, even for syndication reasons.

        • They said the same thing about Nikita,HoD third seasons til April( they wre long sophist).Reign is a cheap international production. They moved it to Fri like Nikita,HoD to wait syndication.Esorcially with BatB,ANTM ending,Crazy Ex flopped,CBS will, push that much harder for Reign to get to syndication.

  34. lorna says:

Vampire diaries should end this season.

    • priscilla says:

Totally without elena its a bust.

      • Malls says:

Priscilla what deranged fan are you? Or are you a fan at all? Everyone knows that no one, I MEAN NO ONE liked Elena and her endlessly whiny tears. Her leaving has been all fans on the interwebs have cheered about, everyone wants Bamon to happen (I could careless, but still), if this show fails its because Plec consistently chooses to give fans everything they don’t want (Stefan and Caroline instead of Klaus and Caroline).

        • MFL says:

What do you mean..’no one like Elena’…I liked her and so do the millions of twitterati who have Delena trending almost every Thursday.
I don’t really care about DE but JulieP never fails to tweet to reinforce that DE is trending. TVD is not the same without her that’s for sure. Caroline & Bonnie are ok but not good lead actresses..I’m not a fan of any of current the ships either

        • Kim says:

I have not missed Elena one bit so far.

    • Shauna says:

I think TVD should has a couple more seasons. With the exit of Elena, the storyline was busted wide open and could go in some interesting directions. With that said, I do not think TVD should go past 9 seasons.

  35. mazel tov says:

Castle: Kill off the stupid new storyline before no oe is left watching the program. Castle works because of the onscreen chemistry between Filion and Katic. Without that there is no show

NCIS; Please do something about Abby. In 12+ seasons she has not grown or matured. Its still Caf-Pow and Gibbs uttered 5 times in succession.

    • castle lover says:

need to do something fast which the way it looks wont happen i suspect it will be a goner.

    • castle lover says:

Castle that is as for ncis-not like that show much!

    • Castlefan says:

Agree on the Castle point – if they stick with the current dumbed-down disaster it will be a sure cancellation, and sadly I would have to endorse that. My favourite show for the last 7 years, but if they can’t make it properly they shouldn’t make it at all.

    • rowdyred says:

Omigod yes! Gabby is the most fingernails-on-a-chalkboard character on TV, and the actress, pushing fifty, looks absurd posing as a nine-year old Goth wannabe “Eccentric” doesn’t begin to cut it..

      • AHW says:

Nine year-old? Really? That’s a ridiculous comment. Schoolgirl outfits are just a funky way to dress; they have nothing to do with one’s actual age. I enjoy Pauley/Abby, as do many others. I prefer eccentric people to dullards who just play the game. Pauley still looks young, so she can pull off a character ten or more years younger than she is.

  36. John Monaghan says:

    Hawley and Winter murdered Castle!

    • annek says:

Agreed. If Castle comes back for S9, they need new showrunners and need both Stana and Nathan to resign. If they are going to go ahead with a new season with only one lead (NF) it will be a further kick in the teeth to fans. No Caskett, no show.

  37. n8frogg says:

    Wasn’t “Wayward Pines” cancelled/ended?

  38. Gianni Falco says:

What the hell is wrong with you “decision makers”? Last Man Standing is one of the best comedies out there, especially on Friday night.

  39. Kyle says:

Shouldn’t we consider Minority Report as “essentially cancelled”?

    • Dean says:

Too bad! Why is it that science fiction series fail on pop networks but tend to linger for years after, re: Firefly ?

    • steveo says:

Minority Report is the one show I look forward to each week of all the new offerings. Great writing and acting in this show!

    • Kris says:

Minority Report shows as cancelled on the TVLine Cancelled or Not slide show…not sure why this page hasn’t been updated

  40. Jake says:

How is Jane the Virgin NOT a sure thing. A Fantastic show

  41. STEPHANIE says:

THE. PLAYER, IS ONE OF THE BEST OF THE NEW SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!??? WHY R THE POWERS THAT BE ALLOW SO MUCH HFEST WRITING AND ACTING TO GO BY THE WAYSIDE! !!!!!! VV

  42. The only one I honestly care about is Blindspot. I’ve been disappointed in the other brand new ones….like Blood And Oil and a few others.

    • Liz says:

I love Blindspot! Its definitely one of the better show out there. I think I read they ordered more episodes so I think it will be renewed.

    • I like blindspot, I can’t get into minority report or limitless Hubby watches those. I am more into reality shows him syfy. I am a big time TWD fan, and we watch Z nation and FTWD. all different but good. I watched BB, Dexter, and others by far TWD is the best show on tv EVER….

      • steveo says:

Poor hubby, I hope you don’t make him watch reality shows with you. Reality killed the fun in the boob tube.

        • GREG HOFFMAN says:

Aint dat da trut Stevo. Its almost like not T.V. anymore…and these ….wives shows, somebody needs to go to jail, including the people who watch!

    • Anita says:

Just curious why so many don’t care for Blood and Oil. I actually like it and was surprised to see it might not make it. Just curious.

  43. Margaret says:

Keep Bones (for now) and they could dump almost everything else. So tired of so called “reality” shows.

  44. elaine says:

law and order svu been on too long same old thing

    • AHW says:

That is simply not true. SVU does a great job of reflecting many important issues; they help shine a light into the dark world of domestic and sexual abuse/crimes on and off-screen. The characters have grown and developed along the way; no less, they have changed a number of cast members. I’d love to see the show make it to season 20.

      • Sara says:

WORD! Love that show and what it does

      • GREG HOFFMAN says:

What you say may be true, however I don’t watch t.v. drama for important issues for that I watch the news show. And the lead character approach to every plot is exactly the same…shes in a rut…lets whisper and be sensitive with furrowed brow for the victim and beat the hell out of the supposed perp, Whenever a perp get beat up by the cops in the first part of the show, we know they have the wrong guy.

  45. elaine says:

leave Hawaii 5 0 alone great show

    • Carol says:

Agree- great writing this year – wins it’s time slot every week. I get so tired of it always getting listed as could go either way!

    • Gmom100 says:

I like Hawaii 50, too, even though it has one of TV’s most annoying characters-Danny Williams!!

      • GREG HOFFMAN says:

I agree whole heartedly. But you have the wrong Danny as worst character…on Blue Bloods. What a terrible actor! Name recognition only. The character is a Neanderthal cop and stupid. How can a “seasoned N.Y. police officer continually get mad at the D.A.s office for not giving him a warrant with no reasonable cause. “but he’s guilty…wah, wah…then do your job an get the evidence! And why does he have access to the D.A.s office without going through his Captain??? Only redeeming factor on this show is Tom Selleck and even he’s a little corny sometimes..and Bridget Moynahan of course, I’d watch her mop the kitchen.

  46. animegirl31 says:

And cable? I’m dying for news of Girl meets world season 3!!!!

  47. Dean Armstrong says:

I thought Person of Interest had already been cancelled. The season finale showed the main characters walking into gunfire at the closing scene.

  48. Carrie says:

Why don’t you add cable channels like HBO and Showtime to the renewal card!

  49. It’s really too bad about Castle, here was a good show that turned into a loser. I blame the lead actors for going along and the producers for pulling such a weird twist that wasn’t really needed.
Take the show Bones as an example of a well excited series and look how well it’s doing.
I used to really enjoy Castle, now I will not even miss it when it’s cancelled.

    • david says:

Yep given the slow motion train wreck that they’ve done to Castle and fans are walking with their remotes I don’t see a recovery.
Which is a real shame because I genuinely liked Castle, though I just read the reviews and don’t watch it anymore after that horrendous break up arc.
Actors can only work with the material that their given, if they had “producer” next to their names then they have a bit more input.
      Cancellation.

      • Kathleen Bergeron says:

I totally agree about Castle. It was once my favorite show, but between the idiotic “Rick disappearing act”, ditching the captain, and now this ludicrous break-up arc (the reason for which is paper thin and totally out of character for Becket)–the fan base is doing its own disappearing number. It is too bad, but Stana probably should have followed her instincts and not re-signed. Stick a fork in it–it is DONE.

        • DW says:

It was the friction between Fillion and Katic not wanting to work together that forced the storyline.

        • Kimberli Laasch says:

Still me of the best shows on tv

        • Kimberli Laasch says:

It is still one of the best shows on TV! Better than The Middle and Blackish. Give me a break!

        • GREG HOFFMAN says:

For the most part I agree… but I would have still kept watching..I had a man-cruch on Rick, he had some of the funniest lines ever, not every show but enough. and Katy…yum! I pretty much enjoyed most of the characters with one exception, the idiot female Captain than insisted on being called “Sir” -stupid. and thru the years the daughter grew on me, not a first, loved the mother.

      • Bev says:

fIlian and katic are now (end of Nov) back together on the show and the chemistry is good again – keep it!

    • Sydney Kyle says:

      I will

    • Laura says:

Yes , Castle is a mess now but it´s going to get even worse without Stana /Beckett next year.

  50. suzyku says:

We really enjoy The Player, good show so I hope they don’t cancel it!
