BILLBOARD’S NEWEST LEADER: Tony Gervino, a former executive editor at Hearst Magazines International, will take the reins at Billboard on April 28. He will report directly to Janice Min, copresident and chief creative officer of parent company Guggenheim Media Entertainment Group. “Tony has both the editorial vision and newsroom drive to lead Billboard into its next act,” said Min.

At Hearst, Gervino was responsible for overseeing the editorial direction of all magazines in the company’s Home Design, Men’s Enthusiast, Teen and Women’s Network groups. This included oversight of editorial staff decisions, the launch of new titles and the creation of brand initiatives for magazines including Esquire, Car and Driver, Popular Mechanics, Seventeen, Robb Report and House Veranda.

Current Billboard editor Joe Levy will assume a new role as editor at large, which will allow him to return to writing, as well as continue to develop new talent and content for the publication.

The new hire marks several changes at Billboard, the largest of which is Min’s expansive role, which includes leading both Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter.
