The Entry Level IT/BT Program (ELITE) is an accelerated career development program that recruits top university graduates who have a passion for information technology and business transformation. Consisting of two 9-month rotations in BT/IT positions at Lenovo's Morrisville location, BT/IT affords new graduates the opportunity to develop their professional BT/IT skills and business acumen while gaining valuable work experience, learning how to operate in a multi-cultural Fortune 500 company, and making important contributions to Lenovo’s global business. The start date for the program will be early June 2016.

We are seeking a User Experience and Interface Designer for the ELITE Program who will be responsible for designing beautiful and usable web interfaces for Lenovo. The ideal candidate has a four-year degree and a strong portfolio of interface designs and graphic creatives that highlight various approaches to innovation in web and/or app design and online media usability. He/she will be able to apply user-centered design principles, employ design guidelines and work closely with UX team leads and strategists to design the user journey, UI specifications, and create mockups or prototypes for applications that promote elegant simplicity, ease of use, purposeful design and an optimal user experience.

In addition, he/she must have the ability to multi-task with multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and be comfortable presenting designs to stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your usability and design skills in the ever-changing and exciting field of consumer electronics

Education Required: Bachelors Degree

Experience Required: 0-2 years

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to/create the design of mobile apps and web applications, being responsible for the usability, interaction and graphic design
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes of proposed UI
• Assess the usability of current applications and provide specific design recommendations to improve them
• Specify and support usability studies of new and existing interfaces and apply results
• Responsible for creating user interface specifications and reviewing them with key stakeholders
• Work within existing brand guidelines but with the ability to extend them if need be
• Excellent graphic design skills required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Design or related field
• Experience or show advanced coursework project deliverables directly related to mobile app and/or web user interface design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience taking an idea from early concept through all phases of the design process
• Have an in-depth understanding of user-centered design principles and methodology
• Must be easy to work with and a team player
• Ability to take direction and execute under tight deadlines
• Demonstrable experience with interface design tools (ex. Photoshop, Illustrator, Muse, Visio, Balsamiq, Axure, etc.)
• Must have experience or show advanced coursework project deliverables in design for responsive web UI
• Experience specifying parameters for UI testing to assess viability of designs and user journeys
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively across geographically diverse teams, management, and executives
• Strong organizational skills
