Rant & Rave: Mascots turned away

RAVE For the grocery cashier who asked “where are those pretty flowers going?” and when I responded “they’re going onto my Mothers grave,” he didn’t charge me for them. I hugged and thanked him and said I’d pay it forward. What a wonderful gesture at Christmastime.

RANT To the overzealous security officers at Pike Place Market who turned away the volunteers of Emerald City Critters during their Christmas event. The Critters had been bringing Christmas cheer to children and families visiting the Market since 2013, but this year it was decided the holiday-themed mascot characters were a distraction from the vendors and buskers. Bah Humbug!
