The shortlisted films include one Student Academy Award winner
Ten films have moved on to the next round of voting in the Oscar race for Best Live-Action Short, the Academy announced on Thursday.
The shortlisted films were selected from an unusually large field of 144 qualifying films by volunteers from the Academy’s Short Films and Feature Animation Branch who viewed all of the eligible entries.
Branch members will now receive screeners of the shortlisted films, and will vote to produce the final list of five nominees.
One of the films, “Everything Will Be Okay” (photo above) by Patrick Vollrath, won a Bronze medal at the Student Academy Awards in September.
