Report: Make plug-in use easier; Aston Martin plans crossover

Removing plug-in barriers
Point-of-sale rebates are one way to get shoppers interested in plug-in electric vehicles, says a study by the National Research Council. The report — compiled at the request of Congress — is aptly titled "Overcoming Barriers to Deployment of Plug-In Electric Vehicles." In addition to supporting various financial incentives, it recommends that local governments streamline the process to build charging stations, and that the federal government establishes a standard charging plug.

Aston Martin plans crossover
Aston Martin has raised $307 million to produce the DBX crossover, a break from the brand's traditional low-slung sports cars. The automaker showed a concept of the vehicle last month at the Geneva auto show.
