Bay Area hip-pop duo Kalin and Myles inch closer to Billboard's Rhythmic airplay chart with "Love Robbery" (Republic), which has sold 117,000 downloads to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. How did the song come about? "Kalin [White] and I were chillin' over at my house and he was about to leave when he mentioned '90s R&B," Myles [Parrish] recalls. "Right on the spot, I started making a beat. Kalin started messing with melodies and I came up with 'Love Robbery.' We had the chorus and beat done before I even saved the project. The next morning I wrote the verses and it was done." The pair's debut EP, Chase Dreams, entered Rap Albums at No. 6 in July. Mere minutes following the twosome's Aug. 5 announcement for their upcoming tour, their growing fanbase drove #KALINANDMYLESTOUR to reign as the top worldwide trending topic on Twitter. –Amaya Mendizabal

After more than a decade in the business, Jamie Scott is breaking through. The 30-year-old British singer/songwriter scaled pop and rock charts in 2012 as half the duo Graffiti6 (now on hiatus), then co-wrote half the tracks on One Direction's Midnight Memories, which topped the Billboard 200 last December. Building on that momentum, Scott releases his U.S. solo debut album, My Hurricane, Oct. 7 on Virgin/Capitol. The set features first single "Unbreakable." –Keith Caulfield

Native Run (Rachel Beauregard and Bryan Dawley) is bubbling under Country Airplay with its debut single "Good On You" (Show Dog-Universal). The Virginia natives first met while singing in the same church, then began writing and performing together in coffeehouses in the Northeast. The pair is working with Grammy-winning writer/producer Luke Laird (Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood). –Wade Jessen
