Janet, Destiny's Child Wage War For No. 1

Janet Jackson's "All for You" once again uses its strength at retail to earn a fourth straight week at No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100. The song continues to hold off a strong challenge from the No. 2 title, "Survivor" by Destiny's Child, which is the most-played song at U.S. radio. Meanwhile, on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, "All for You" is forced to settle at No. 2, as Case's "Missing You" owns the top slot for a second week.

Jackson's new Virgin album, also titled "All for You," is expected to easily debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 next week. Destiny's Child's "Survivor" album is due Tuesday (May 1) from Columbia.

"Lady Marmalade," featuring Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink, as well as Uncle Kracker's "Follow Me," make their top-10 debuts on the Hot 100 this week. "Lady Marmalade," from the upcoming Nicole Kidman/Ewan McGregor musical "Moulin Rouge," hits No. 10 in only its fourth week on the chart, while "Follow Me" settles in at No. 9 in its ninth week. "Follow Me" leads the way for Uncle Kracker's debut album, "Double Wide" (Top Dog/Lava/Atlantic), which moves to a new peak of No. 9 on The Billboard 200.

The Hot 100's fastest-growing track at radio is 112's "Peaches & Cream," which rockets 51-35. Lil' Mo's "Superwoman" is the fastest-growing track at retail, shooting 54-41. Both tracks post nice gains on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart as well, with "Peaches & Cream" moving 18-11, and "Superwoman" flying 19-13.

Matchbox twenty's "Mad Season" is the Hot 100's top debut, arriving at No. 68. Other debuts include Lonestar's "I'm Already There" at No. 69; Lionel Richie's "Angel" at No. 70, Madonna's "What It Feels Like for a Girl" at No. 73; Blu Cantrell's "Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) at No. 83; Faith Evans' "Can't Believe" featuring Carl Thomas at No. 86, and Ja Rule's "I Cry" featuring Lil' Mo at No. 92.

As reported yesterday, "NOW That's What I Call Music!" took a sales plummet of 54%, moving about 248,000 units, according to SoundScan, yet still manages to hold onto the top slot on The Billboard 200. The album is No. 1 for a third straight week, followed by Tupac Shakur's "Until the End of Time" (Amaru/Death Row/Interscope) which has held at No. 2 for the same duration.

"Until the End of Time," however, enjoys a fourth straight week at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, where Sunshine Anderson's "Your Woman" (Soulife/Atlantic) makes a smashing debut at No. 2. Anderson's set came in at No. 5 on The Billboard 200, right behind the No. 4 debut of Brooks & Dunn's "Steers & Stripes" (Arista Nashville).

Brooks & Dunn have two No. 1's on the country charts, with "Steers & Stripes" driving straight to the top of Billboard's Top Country Albums tally, and the album's first single, "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You," making it a second straight week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Single & Tracks chart.

Staind is once again in control of Billboard's Modern and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts with its newest single, "It's Been a While." Weezer's "Hash Pipe," however, bolts 37-8 on the latter chart in anticipation of the band's forthcoming "The Green Album," due May 15 on Geffen/Interscope.
