Teacher Workshops
The National Park Service works with partners to offer a variety of teacher workshops. Most of the professional development opportunities offer re-certification or other continuing education credit. The workshops are as varied as the parks in which they occur, but all stress interdisciplinary participatory learning, and strive to connect your curriculum goals with the park stories and resources.
Teacher-Ranger-Teachers
The Teacher Ranger Teacher (TRT) program is the centerpiece of the National Park Service's Teacher Corps, a diverse collection of programs and opportunities for educators to partner and interact with the National Park Service.
Historical & Environmental Education Reading
Park rangers, scientists, historians and other park professionals have prepared this list of materials that inspired them to learn about the parks - an ever growing library of titles you can suggest to your students. They provide additional resources to accompany your curriculum, and draw inspiration for future curriculum planning.
