Okay, get ready for potentially confusing news from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past - Bryan Singer announced he has cast Evan Peters (American Horror Story) as Quicksilver.
This news from Crave's ComingSoon.net, of course, comes just days after Joss Whedon announced his movie, The Avengers 2, will include Quicksilver and his twin Scarlet Witch. (Actress Saoirse Ronan confirmed today her interest in playing Wanda Maximoff in Whedon's sequel.)
So, will Peters play Quicksilver in both the Fox and Marvel films? Marvel movie head Kevin Feige reiterated that Marvel can use the mutant twins (Fox has the rights to all mutants) if they don't mention they are mutants or Magneto's children. Okaaaay.
We'll have to see what comes of all the legalese and who will play what in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Marvel's The Avengers 2. Let's hope this isn't just some lame power play between billion dollar movie companies toying with our affections. (Too cynical?)
