Data and Statistics
Below lists key data sets published by the Office of Immigration Statistics. More information is available in our Publications section in PDF format.
Yearbook of Immigration Statistics
The Yearbook of Immigration Statistics is a compendium of tables that provides data on foreign nationals who, during a fiscal year, were granted lawful permanent residence (i.e., admitted as immigrants or became legal permanent residents), were admitted into the United States on a temporary basis (e.g., tourists, students, or workers), applied for asylum or refugee status, or were naturalized. The Yearbook also presents data on immigration law enforcement. There are Excel data tables for legal permanent residents, naturalizations, refugees and asylees, and enforcement actions from 2004-2011 and 1996-2003.
Profiles on Legal Permanent Residents
The profiles on legal permanent residents show data on selected demographic characteristics of immigrants who became legal permanent residents during each fiscal year by country of birth, state, and metropolitan area. This information is provided in Excel data tables from Fiscal Years 2003-2011.
Profiles on Naturalized Citizens
The profiles on naturalized citizens show data on selected demographic characteristics of immigrants who naturalized during each fiscal year by country of birth, state, and metropolitan area. This information is provided in Excel data tables from Fiscal Years 2003-2010.
Mapping Immigration
These maps visually represent U.S. migration data by various demographic and geographic characteristics.
