Natural Born Grooves (NBG) are Jaco Van Rijswijk (Founder of the NBG Studio and Producer) and DJ F.R.A.N.K (DJ/Producer and resident in Belgium's biggest and most famous Club ''Carre'', weekly Mixsessions on radio stations worldwide and owner of one of the most famous DJ-stores in Belgium - DJ's Recordstore).
It all started in 1995, when Jaco started off his own label in a self financed studio. Oliver Stone's blockbuster ''Natural Born Killers'' was the inspiration for the name of the label and the group. With the first release ''Groovebird'', Jaco managed to please all kinds of house lovers, both the underground scene and the large festivals and clubs played Groovebird. It has featured on millions of compilations and has been licensed for labels in Holland, France, UK, USA, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, etc.� After Groovebird, each and every NBG-track topped the international dance charts "Forerunner", "Universal Love", "Mickey and Mallory", "Discobabe" and "Get Funky" were floorfillers across Europe.
In 2004 Jaco was the brain and the producer behind the worldwide smash ''Pump it Up'' by DANZEL selling more than 1 million copies worldwide! DJ F.R.A.N.K started DJ'ing in 1986, and producing in 1997. In 2003 he produced and remixed the 1.3 million selling summer smash ''Summerjam 2003'' by The Underdog Project. In 2007 they decided to produce together for the legendary NBG and ''Candy On The Dancefloor'' was the first release on the NBG-label. An instant debut at Number 1 in the Belgium Charts and as high as Number 4 in the Dutch charts and Number 4 in the dance charts in France. Licensed to 3 Beat Records in the UK, France (Airplay),Germany (Unlimited Sounds) and many more countries, it has been picked up by all major DJ's in the world and getting worldwide Number 1 club chart positions already. The vocals on Candy on the Dancefloor are by multi-talented singer/songwriter Craig Smart who has been topping the charts for over a decade with his thoughtful lyrics and unmistakable hooks. Craig was the lead singer of Electra Records D-Cru which landed Craig with a Canadian Juno nomination for the song �I Will be Waiting� in 2000 and a West Coast Music Award for the 2nd most played song in Canada. His Canadian accolades include songs for Hipjoint Records �What Went On� and �Baby It's I�. He also has been honoured with Gold and Platinum records including singing on �Faded� for Soul Decision and being a writer and singer for the worldwide hits �Summer Jam�, �Saturday Night�, �Girls of Summer� by the Underdog Project. � Summer Jam� went Gold in France, Gold in Germany, Double Platinum in Belgium and Holland.
Craig has a large resume of singing and writing which include working with Master P from No Limit Records in 2001 which resulted in being chosen for the Eddie Murphy Movie, �Pluto Nash� along side C-murder, Silkk the Shocker, and Lil' Romeo; Craig also has two songs on Master P's "Game Face" album with the songs � Back on Top� and �More than a Woman�. Under Craig's alter ego Yardi Don he has hit songs such as �One Love�, �Unity�, �Boom, Boom, Boom�, and �Its Da Music�. �One Love� alone is on over 100 compilations world wide. Roger Sanchez played it as the "Hit Release of the Week" on his nationally syndicated radio show �Release Yourself�.
2006/2007 were busy years for Craig. He sang at the Malta Music Awards and took on the NBG (Natural Born Groove) project as singer/songwriter on �Candy on the Dancefloor" which debuted at Number 1 in the Belgium Dance Charts, went as high as Number 4 in the Dutch charts and Number 4 in the dance charts in France.
Currently, Craig is co-founder of Def Traxx Music with partner Jenson Vaughan. He has been co-writing and singing songs such as �Freedom� with France's Tristan Gardner on Scorpio Records and �Hanging On� with the House Keepers on Network Records out of Italy.
