“Daydream” crossed all borders and broke all barriers for the group.
France, for instance, has received the Wallace Collection remarkably well on all radio stations, on stage (e.g. at the notorious “Olympia”), and with no less than forty-two TV performances!
In Portugal (at that time still living under dictatorship regime), the band (the first one to play there whose members had long hair) had a very special influence on youth, who perceived the group as a wind of freedom that came its way.
When EMI decided to launch the group in Germany, “the Wallace” participated in a huge technical audiovisual premiere by way of a transmission that was dedicated to them:
the first use of the “Blue Key” effect, a studio trick able to mask everything that’s covered in blue.
In Italy, the band played at nearly all the big festivals from 1970 and 1971.
They also recorded a tune specifically aimed at the Italian market, “Il Sorriso, Il Paradiso”, that was performed at the Festival of San Remo and was met with a huge success.
After having conquered Europe, the Wallace embarked for a tour in America, where they played in Peru, Venezuela, Mexico and Brazil (at the festival in Rio, where they played a show at the Maracana stadium, all 40.000 seats filled) and in many more countries…
