The five-piece act's latest EP, "Guess Who," released on April 30, clinched the No. 148 spot on the chart this week, according to Billboard, Monday. The Billboard 200 chart is the American magazine's main album chart that ranks the most popular albums and EPs in the United States every week. Prior to ITZY, K-pop acts such as BTS, SuperM, BLACKPINK and TWICE entered the chart.
"Guess Who" also landed on Rolling Stone's Top 200 album chart, securing the No. 164 spot.
With the lead track, "Mafia in the Morning," the EP sold 200,000 copies during the first week of its release, according to ITZY's management company, JYP Entertainment. The music video of "Mafia in the Morning" drew more than 75 million views on YouTube as of Tuesday morning.
ITZY, consisting of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna, is JYP's first all-girl group after TWICE, which was launched in 2015. After grabbing the No. 1 spot on a Korean music show with the track, "Dalla Dalla," only 10 days after its debut, the quintet unleashed a string of hits, including "Icy" (2019) and "Not Shy" (2020).
The band has been targeting the U.S. market since its beginning. It kicked off its promotional activities in the country shortly after its debut in Korea and put out an English album called "Not Shy" in January.
