Whoopi Goldberg is no fan of Donald Trump, but she was so fired up about the one-term POTUS that she stepped in to question Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s analysis of him on this morning’s episode of The View.

While discussing the upcoming 2024 election, Griffin said she thinks Trump’s “rhetoric and lack of impulse control” will be his downfall. Still, she said his recent appearance at the funeral of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller may have earned him stronger Republican support.

“This past week, he had a brief, good political moment for a Republican. He attended a slain NYPD officer’s funeral to juxtapose, you know, what he was framing as [Joe] Biden hobnobbing with celebrities,” Griffin said. “Choose what you like there, but for Republicans, it was good imagery.”

As she began to continue, a flabbergasted Goldberg asked, “Really?”

Griffin began, “One day later—” then paused to answer Goldberg, replying with a definitive “yes.”

Goldberg then explained to her co-host why she’d questioned her, replying, “I’m asking that because I was so offended, because this man, because you-know-who, showed up, and he was — whether he was asked or not —”

As Griffin clarified, “he was invited,” Goldberg continued, “this is a man who didn’t care what happened to the officers on Jan. 6.”

Griffin, appearing to agree, told Goldberg, “exactly,” and named Brian Sicknick, a Capitol police officer who died after responding to the Jan. 6 insurrection, where he was pepper-sprayed and suffered two strokes.

Griffin then continued, “Just to finish my point here, for his base, those were smart optics. But he steps on it a minute later by tweeting out this offensive, dangerous photo of Joe Biden … he lacks the most basic instincts around impulse control and I think that’s going to hurt him the closer we get to the election.”

The Sicknick family has also been vocal about Trump’s appearance at Diller’s funeral. While they shared their condolences for the late officer’s family, they also questioned Trump’s intentions while speaking to The New York Daily News.

Charles Sicknick, the father of Brian, told The New York Daily News that Trump did not lower the White House flags to half-staff until three days after his son’s body had been released from the hospital. He told the outlet, “The first one to call us was Joe Biden and he was crying on the phone. The only thing Donald Trump cares about is Donald Trump.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
