DreamWorks animation announced that Julia Stiles, Marcus Scribner, Aimee Garcia, Ashley Liao, Lauren Tom, Keston John, Justina Machado and D’Arcy Carden have been cast in “Dragons: The Nine Realms,” which premieres on Hulu and Peacock on Dec. 23.
They join Jeremy Shada, who stars as Tom Kullersen in the “How to Train Your Dragon” spinoff. The six-episode series is set 1,300 years after the events of the original movies, where dragons have become just a legend to the modern world. When a geological anomaly opens up an miles-deep fissure in the Earth’s surface, scientists from all over the world gather at a new research facility to study the phenomenon. Soon, a group of misfit kids brought to the site by their parents, uncover the truth about dragons and where they’ve been hiding — which they must keep secret in order to protect what they’ve discovered.

Netflix announced that “The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window” will premiere on Jan. 28. A follow-up to “South Park: Post COVID,” the special follows Stan (Trey Parker), Kyle (Matt Stone) and Cartman (Parker) as they go back in time to try to prevent the pandemic and save Kenny’s life, until they meet Victor Chaos. Co-creators Parker and Stone executive produce along with Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell and Vernon Chatman are producers. Bravo announced that Season 6 of “Summer House” will premiere on Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. The reality series follows a group of friends spending the summer together in a house in Montauk, N.Y. Scott Sternberg launched three new digital divisions, Resort Livestream, Crimestream and TodayLive, under Scott Sternberg Productions. Resort Livestream already boasts “Vail Daily Live,” a news show about five resorts in Vail, Colo. in partnership with regional newspaper Vail Daily, and will soon expand the format to other resort cities. Under the new Crimestream banner, a podcast titled “Producing Crime,” premiering in early 2022, will feature conversations with crime producers, police agencies, investigators and legal experts. The third division, TodayLive, offers daily daytime content with a new talk strip, court show and game show to be announced soon.

HBO Max has partnered with Little Cinema to release a web-based augmented reality activation that lets fans join in on the “Magic Mike Live” action from virtually anywhere, starting Dec. 8. Featuring contestants from the show, users can choose which dancer’s routine they’d like to enjoy up close and personal and can even make it rain with Magic Mike’s signature pink neon dollars or raise a glass of champagne to toast the show. Little Cinema partnered with Powster to build the concept. The Finding Magic Mike AR Experience is available at the website.

Allied Global Marketing announced that Kelly Estrella has been promoted to chief of marketing operations after serving as executive vice president of client solutions since 2018. She has led campaigns for accounts including Amazon, HBO and Sephora and spearheaded cross-functional account teams for clients such as AMC Networks and Herschend Family Entertainment.
Estrella Media has appointed Jacqueline Hernández, Flavio Morales and Michael Rubenstein to its board of directors. Hernández is the CEO and co-founder of multicultural marketing and strategy consulting company New Majority Ready.
