BTS made history tonight as the first Korean musical guest to appear on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on April 13.
The South Korean septet performed their newly-released single “Boy With Luv,” which features Halsey, live for the first time shortly after midnight on April 14 in New York City where the show is filmed. The single was released Friday (April 12) and fronts the group’s latest EP, Map of the Soul: Persona. Song co-writer Melanie Fontana filled in for Halsey.
After the performance, NBC also announced that BTS would be performing for the first time with Halsey at the Billboard Music Awards. The BBMAs will be hosted on May 1, and also air on NBC.
Before the show ended, BTS also performed their 2017 hit “Mic Drop,” which was recognized last year by the Recording Industry Association of America as the group’s first song to go platinum in the country.
