After appearing on The Late Show on Monday night, BLACKPINK made their way to Good Morning America on Tuesday (Feb. 12) for their first-ever U.S. morning television appearance.
The quartet appeared at GMA‘s studio in Times Square, where they performed their banging pop song “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” which went to No. 55 on the Hot 100 chart last year. They also gave a brief interview.
“We’re just excited to be here and see everyone,” said Jennie about being in New York for the first time as a group, while Rosé explained how the group’s fandom, name “Blink,” is derived from the group’s name by just shortening it by a few letters.
She also said that the group took some time out to celebrate her birthday the night before. “After work last night we just had dinner the four of us. It was at a really nice Italian restaurant.” Rosé celebrated her 22nd birthday on Feb. 11.

The group also expressed excitement over their upcoming first North American concert series, which was announced last night. “It’s happening and we’re starting in April, and we’re very, very excited for it,” said Jennie. “It’s finally happening.”
Rosé also spoke briefly about the group’s upcoming Coachella shows.
The group gave a longer interview during a sit down with Michael Strahan and Sarah Haines for Strahan and Sarah, which will air on Friday (Feb. 15). They then performed their song “Forever Young” for that appearance. Check out part of the interview here ahead of its airing:
