‘Revenge of the Dreamers III’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
'Revenge of the Dreamers III' opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, while Machine Gun Kelly's 'Hotel Diablo' checks in to the top 10.
Revenge of the Dreamers III opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 115,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 11, according to Nielsen Music.
Of that sum, 23,000 were in album sales. The multi-act 18-track hip-hop project boasts the Dreamville label’s roster of acts, including Dreamville chief J. Cole on eight songs.
Revenge was released on July 5 via Dreamville/Interscope Records and follows Revenge of the Dreamers II (released in 2015), and the Revenge of the Dreamers mixtape (2014).
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units are comprised of traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new July 20-dated chart, where Revenge of the Dreamers III debuts at No. 1, will be posted in full on Billboard‘s websites on July 16.
The new Revenge III set easily surpasses the peak position of Revenge of the Dreamers II. The latter debuted and peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard 200 dated Dec. 26, 2015. (The first Revenge of the Dreamers set did not chart.)
The Revenge III tracklist is populated by J. Cole and his Dreamville artists Bas, Cozz, EARTHGANG, J.I.D., Ari Lennox, Lute and Omen. Additionally, more than 25 other guests are featured on the set, including DaBaby, Ski Mask the Slump God, T.I., Ty Dolla $ign and Vince Staples. The tracks were recorded during a 10-day session in January, where more than 100 artists and producers were invited to write and record songs for Revenge III.
At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Billie Eilish’s former leader When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? moves up one spot, with 50,000 equivalent album units (down 3%). Chris Brown’s Indigo slides from No. 1 to No. 3 in its second week, with just under 50,000 units (down 54%), and Lil Nas X’s 7 falls from No. 2 to No. 4 with 49,000 units (down 21%).
Machine Gun Kelly clocks his fourth top 10 album, as Hotel Diablo checks in at No. 5 with 39,000 equivalent album units (with 16,000 of that sum in album sales). He previously visited the top 10 with Bloom (No. 8 in 2017), General Admission (No. 4, 2015) and Lace Up (No. 4, 2012).

Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You ascends one rung, returning to its No. 6 high, on the new Billboard 200, earning 32,000 equivalent album units (down 10%), while Khalid’s former No. 1 Free Spirit descends 6-7 with nearly 32,000 units (down17%).
Post Malone’s former topper beerbongs & bentleys climbs 16-8 with 25,000 units (up 5%), likely due to increased attention the artist has received courtesy of his new single “Goodbyes,” featuring Young Thug, which was released on July 5. (The song is not on beerbongs.)
Mustard’s Perfect Ten slips from No. 8 to No. 9 in its second week on the list, earning a little more than 24,000 equivalent album units (down 32%), while Jonas Brothers’ former No. 1 Happiness Begins is a non-mover at No. 10 with 24,000 units (down 16%).
