Trollhunters is an American computer-animated fantasy television series created for Netflix by Guillermo del Toro and produced by DreamWorks Animation and Double Dare You.[2]
The first two episodes of the series premiered on October 8, 2016, at the New York Comic Con.[1][3] It was released worldwide on Netflix on December 23, 2016.[4]
Plot
A fifteen-year-old boy stumbles upon a magical amulet that transforms him into a warrior with the title of Trollhunter. He is the chosen defender of the trolls that live below the human town of Arcadia from miscreants who try to disrupt peace.[5]

Production
Trollhunters is led by Anton Yelchin, Kelsey Grammer and Ron Perlman, and is one of Yelchin's final projects as he died shortly after recording most of his dialogue.[7] Producer Del Toro refused to replace his recordings.[8]
Reception
Trollhunters has received acclaim from critics. The first season received a 93% rating at Rotten Tomatoes based on 15 critic reviews, with the critical consensus "Trollhunters manages to capture del Toro's enthusiasm for telling monster stories, in a youthful and more colorful fashion that may well earn him a new generation of fans."[9]
