Season 4 marks the downfall of this show. Seasons 1-3 were really great, with an engaging story and real character development. In Season 4, it feels like nothing happens. There are so many problems with this season:
1. A lot of time is wasted when they have so little showtime in a single season. The whole Sunfire Elf plot needed to be left out. What is the connection of the Sunfire plot to the main story?
2. Why did Rayla leave? Nothing makes sense at all going from Season 3 to 4 with just the show. I don't read the books.
3. The jokes are so horribly cringe that I feel embarrassed to even like this show. The flossing... the fart jokes, just no.
4. All that happened this entire season? The bad guys got a map. Wow! A map!
5. Rayla was just handed the coins containing her family. No fight or any challenge to get them. Because why not, right? Such important items, and they were just handed over by the enemy.
6. The animation and lighting is a huge downgrade from Season 3. Characters feel less expressive and more jerky. The lighting is almost non-existent in some scenes.
7. Where is Aarvos? We saw him like twice in the whole season. And the whole 'mystery' of Aarvos was explained away, instead of leaving that to the end of the show, or something. Now the title doesn't even make sense.
Okay, I guess that's enough negatives. Now a few positives: the character redesigns are good, the music is great, and the art style is still unique and jaw dropping in many scenes.

Very good, each episode was amazing, but as a season it felt incomplete, perhaps because we had to wait so long for it over the pandemic. It did not feel like a full story arc the way the previous seasons had. Luckily anyone watching it today can go straight into the following season.

Great fourth season that sets up a new storyline as the heroes must uncover the mystery of the star fallen elf who caused the war in the previous seasons. The voice cast remains superb while the show runners take the show into some interesting new directions (seeing Claudia's descent into darkness remains heartbreaking, even with a new boyfriend). Granted, the show doesn't do much of anything new but remains a fun watch, especially for Netflix subscribers.

I cannot even start telling how disappointed we were. My daughter and myself enjoyed seasons 1-3 despite some minor flaws, the series was good, the characters interesting and the plot reasonable and built well.
In Season 4 things start to go really south and we did not understand why. It became childish and predictable.

What a mess this season was. Wonder Woman 1984 level writing. I mean, just a smorgasbord of baffling writing choices. And perhaps worst of all, the entire season goes by with nothing happening and no progress being made. I only even finished the season out of a sense of duty. Totally unrecognizable show compared to all the prior seasons. To the point where I literally felt betrayed.

This show was EVERYTHING!! We loved it so much! Glad it came back…but it's not the same. Season 5 just came out and we binge-watched it in just a few days. My daughter is 5 1/2 and she is obsessed with this show! That being said…now I have to skip past a few of the scenes regarding subject matter she is too young to understand, namely that involving the queen of Lux Aurea and some of the dark magic, which would be too frightening for her. I really wish I didn't have to skip any it…because the rest of the show is suitable for her level, as she is very advanced and mature for her age. Unfortunately, in this ridiculous time we find ourselves in, the woke agenda seeps into every single part of our lives. It really just takes away from the show, and it's just another example of how inappropriate the group advancing that agenda thinks it's okay to target our children, especially the very, very young, who have absolutely no business being exposed to any sexual topics.
It's okay to have characters of every shape and size, of race and gender….it's even okay, in my opinion, to have gay characters, but young kids don't need to see any of adult characters sleeping in bed together, kissing, getting married, etc…it's just not necessary and it has no place in a show for young children…typical Netflix for you…they allow this crap to be put into their shows, in an attempt to avoid being targeted by the radical woke minority, who think it's okay to sexualize children and expose them to subject matter they have no business seeing, as young kids have no capacity of understanding any of it. It takes a truly sick individual to write any of that crap into a children's program. They took a wildly popular kids show and wokeified it…so parents get your fast forward button ready. It's too bad…truly…because it is a fantastic show otherwise. We watched it as a family once…but now we can't, due to the weak decisions made by the ethically weak people in charge at Netflix.
