      Season 2 – F Is for Family

      2017 Comedy Animation List
89% Tomatometer 9 Reviews 95% Audience Score 100+ Ratings Set in the 1970s, this animated raunchy comedy is inspired by the life of stand-up comic Bill Burr, who is a co-creator and executive producer of the series. Burr also voices the character of Frank Murphy, a short-tempered veteran who lives in the suburbs with his wife, Sue (Laura Dern) and their three children. Frank, who works at an airport, has a penchant for shouting and profanity-filled rants. The series celebrates all things 1970s, including the lifestyle, the music, and all sorts of other nostalgic details. Read More Read Less Watch on Netflix Stream Now

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

F is For Family is a little grouchier and wiser in its second season, evoking an era of American decay with warm pastel hues and articulating blue collar angst through Bill Burr's blustery delivery.

Dennis Perkins AV Club It's a study in a specific sort of white, lower-middle-class disappointment. Still the best current credits sequence on TV. Rated: B Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Matthew Rozsa Salon.com "F Is for Family," an animated sitcom starring Bill Burr and Laura Dern and set in the early 1970s, is one of the best new shows out there, period. Jun 19, 2017 Full Review Matt Fowler IGN Movies This series might spend most of its time repeating the same screaming fits over and over...but there's a formidable spine underneath. Rated: 7.1/10 Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Christopher James AwardsCircuit.com Make no mistake, F is for Family is the drunker, depressed older brother of The Simpsons. Rated: 3/4 Nov 3, 2018 Full Review Kiera Allen Daily Journal (Kankakee, IL) Looking to relive the days where you could smoke anywhere and leave your children to play unattended for hours at a time? Audience Member Probably the best season of the show. Great character building and adding of dimensions. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member [⭐️82%] Season two plays it more to the 70's setting it is in and allows for natural humour and emotion to flow from it. Second time around, F is for Family is a bit more ambitious and takes more risks in its story, which pays off. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Just as good, if not better than it's first season, 'F Is For Family' still strives to push out amazing episodes and have some fun for the whole family! (See what I did there)? 😂 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member F is for Family continues to prove that it is a show that is sticking around. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Better than the first season and does everything right about the first season and builds on it, while adding great new characters and more exciting adventures. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Bill burr is hilarious. He tells it like it is and how a lot of us fathers want to say it.
