Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) It’s bolshie fun for an adolescent audience, with a smidge of Doctor Who, although it’s not as good as Joe Cornish’s equally spectral Lockwood & Co, which Netflix cancelled after just one season. May 2, 2024 Full Review Valerie Anne Autostraddle Overall, the show is really fun. It has supernatural case-of-the-week style mysteries, plus overarching enemies to contend with. It has themes of loss and identity and trauma, all while being funny and irreverent in between its serious moments. May 1, 2024 Full Review Clint Worthington RogerEbert.com Despite its faults, "Dead Boy Detectives" seems dead set on providing passable, spectral entertainment even for those unfamiliar with the series (both of them) on which it's based. Apr 26, 2024 Full Review Steve Murray ArtsATL Risqué without scandalizing its YA demographic, it left me wanting more -- maybe the darker, wilder stuff Yockey creates in his original work. May 31, 2024 Full Review Sharai Bohannon Horror Movie Blog [It] wastes no time when it comes to forcing you to root for these characters. Outside of Edwin and Charles not being our usual generic bros, they are surrounded by a cast of characters that are queer, POC, fearless, and so damn fascinating. May 29, 2024 Full Review Joly Herman Common Sense Media The action kicks in and only lets up for snappy dialogue in this carefully crafted, spooky show. May 15, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

John W Fairly good overall. I could do without the swearing. I do not care for the Dandelion Sprites, but otherwise it is written very well. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/07/24 Full Review Matt J Definitely a good story line and for the most part the cast carry off the writing. I suspect the rating is largely buoyed by the fact that it's a Neil Gaiman Creation, and everything is 10/10 with most of his fans. I love his work too but in this case some of the performances let it down, in particular Jayden Revri seems to have been cast despite his acting skills, not because of them. He's incredibly wooden and feels like he is reciting the lines given to him. Compared to American Gods, Sandman and Good Omens - this is definitely the weakest adaption of the bunch but still worth a watch Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review Layla R this satisfied me since lockwood and co got cancelled Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review Samuel L I wasn't planning on watching it at first. It was giving "cancelled"-vibes and after going through the heart break of having Half Bad cancelled the day after I finished it I wasn't as willing to watch this; but here I am, Leaving a review 'cause I WANT a season two. It is not often that I actually finish a series, but with this one I am TOTALLY hooked! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Bright A We need season 2 ❤️ right now Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Cutest F We need moreeeeeeeeee Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
