When Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed), a knight in a futuristic medieval world, is framed for a crime he didn't commit, the only one who can help him prove his innocence is Nimona (Chloë Grace Moretz), a mischievous teen with a taste for mayhem -- who also happens to be a shapeshifting creature Ballister has been trained to destroy. It seems based on some of the other reviews some people missed what was happening at the end. Nimona for me was an amazing movie. I saw a couple reviews critiquing the ending but I thought it was amazing. One review said that Nimona became just like what others thought they were like at the end, but I don't think that's true. Spolier: Nimona wasn't purposefully causing destruction at the end, they were attempting to kill themselves and much of the destruction occurring was from others attacking them, not the other way around. I thought that part was an amazing wrap to the story.

Nimona was a fun, engaging and thoroughly entertaining character - until she wasn't. I think the point that was missed by most of the critics was that Nimona, when pissed off, became exactly as dangerous as everyone had always feared she would be. Intent on destruction, angry beyond reason, she ultimately does pose a huge threat to their world. The clues were all there from the beginning, cute and boisterous, all she wants to do is fight and kill and Ballister has his work cut out to restrain her. So it's okay to be as bad as the bad guys when circumstances permit? This bothers me a great deal about the movie, which all its moralising does not make up for.
