And the 2023 Kidscreen Awards winners are…

Netflix walked away with 15 trophies tonight, and two of its kids shows—Deepa & Anoop and Heartstopper—tied for the most wins.
February 14, 2023

It was a fabulous night in Miami for Netflix, which dominated the 2023 Kidscreen Awards ceremony with wins in 15 categories.

Animated preschool series Deepa & Anoop, which Mattel Television produced for the streamer, did particularly well at the 14th-annual event. Its four wins—two Preschool Programming awards (Best New Series and Best Inclusivity) plus a pair of Creative Talent awards for Best Music and Best Voice Talent—made it one of the night’s winningest shows, along with See-Saw Films’ Heartstopper (also for Netflix).

Authentically representing the LGBTQ+ community, Heartstopper came away with trophies for Best New Series, Best Live-Action Series and Best in Class in the Tweens/Teens Programming categories, as well as a Creative Talent award for Best Acting.

After Netflix, Comcast scored eight awards, including three for DreamWorks Animation’s popular series Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight—Best New Series and Best in Class in Kids Programming, and Best Design in Creative Talent.

Meanwhile, Wondery and Amazon Music were big winners in the newest Kidscreen Awards category for Best Podcast, with preschool title Little Stories Everywhere. And Amazon Kids+ took home the Best Kids-Only Streaming Platform award.

Other notable wins included the perennially successful PBS KIDS (Channel of the Year); awards darling Bluey (Best Animated Series—Preschool); and Sesame Workshop’s #ComingTogether Word of the Day (Best Preschool Web/App Series—Branded).

Hosted by drag performers and child educators Fay Slift and Fluffy Soufflé (stars of The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy), the 2023 Kidscreen Awards celebrated the year’s best work in children’s television and digital media.
