Episodes of the animated series "Dragons: Defenders of Berk" debut on DVD in March.

DreamWorks Animation is making the most of 2014 when it comes to its many dragons.

In addition to the movie sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 (in theaters June 13), Dragons: Defenders of Berk Part 1 arrives on DVD March 25 collecting the first 10 episodes of the award-winning Cartoon Network series.

Defenders, which premiered in 2012, takes place between the 2010 original film and the upcoming sequel. The animated episodes follow Viking boy Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel), his dragon pal Toothless and all their friends as they keep their village safe from enemies and continue improving relationships between men and dragons. The voice cast also features America Ferrara and Christopher Mintz-Plasse reprising their film roles.

Extras on the Defenders DVD include an in-depth look at the colorful dragon characters Flightmare, Skrill and Fireworm Queen; a featurette on the creation of the dragon Screaming Death; and a music video. Plus, a code for a digital HD version of the episodes comes with the set as well as an exclusive offer for battle gear and a one-month subscription to the online game School of Dragons.
