I purchased a travel baby monitor/camera for my Niece as a gift. Selection of purchase of a 2yr or 3yr Protection was offered when adding to cart. I selected to add the 2yr. Plan and a gift bag.
I entered the physical address(different than mine) for the gift to be sent to, along with the recipients phone number and email address. It's explained that the phone number is for the delivery driver, email is for delivery of gift receipt and any documents which will be sent within 48hrs after gift delivery.
The Monitor was delivered on time the next day to my Niece. The Protection Plan was sent to me. My Email. When questioned, both Amazon and Asurion said they work independently of each other. Asurion does not see the gift information, nor the email address for the recipient so they send it to the purchaser. Again this is a gift! why would the purchaser want the Protection Plan? Amazon breaks it down into 2 separate order numbers. Not me. Most incredibly stupid thing ever.
